Repeated usage, or just moving the joints/tools open and close, this worked on the Ti for me pretty well.

I usually do this: Get a good DVD (I've really been in the USA series Psych as of late), get some good ice cream, and then sit down on the couch or lay in bed.

Now you are 100% prepared to begin breaking in your tool.

1.) Open and close the pliers, work the knife blade a little bit, feel the thickness of the drivers, see how you can manipulate it with one hand and so forth.

2.) Eat some ice cream and watch your DVD.

3.) Repeat 1 & 2 until you fall asleep.

As you can see below I may have been buying too many tools lately.

*The above also works for knives, flashlights and girlfriends.

Ice cream.....oooohhhhh woooow.  I'm trying to be on a diet.  You just had to show that picture.  I eventually saw the crunch in there.  Although I didn't see any Ben and Jerry's.

Breaking in a tools is just one of those things that happens over time.  You can lube the joints a little, but it would take a long time to duplicate real life sitting in front of the TV.  Take it out and just use it for what it was designed for.  They are meant to be used.

It's funny to see all the Luxury Off Road vehicles.  It's like an oxy moron.  Use it for what it was designed for.  Get it dirty.  wear it down and clean it up.  That's the ticket.

I think a lot depends on the tool in question, some tool's manufacturing tolerances are so close that there tight as a drum all there working lives, others get slack all to quickly ::)
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

I tend to do the same as Spoonrobot except its chocolate and fizzydrink instead of icecream  ;D
But in time it will loosen up . Some brands end up with you wishing they hadnt loosened up that much .
