Oh shiny. Must have. Must use. Must get it dirty then shine it up again. :tu:
No worries, it will see much use and abuse  ;)

Yep that is my favourite Evil mod  8) 8) 8) 8) :salute: :salute: :salute:.
I wish LM would make a SUPER SKELETOOL  :gimme: :gimme: :D :D
Thanks buddy. Did you ever make use of that airbrush?

Fabulous work Evil. :salute: That thumbstud must have been especially challenging. :)
Thanks Bob  :salute: A lot of angles and curves, for sure  :)

I can only stare in covetous awe. :) The new blade looks amazing, and it sounds like it feels good to. Sounds like you're down to the handles, pliers and bit holder for original parts.
If anyone from Leatherman is reading this, go to the boss, and tell him that whatever Evil wants, Evil gets, and hire this man.
Thank you ironraven. After having lubricated it and breaking it in, I can honestly say it feels smoother than my other folders now.....

The charge is no premium tool compared to this
Thank you scrappy.....

I`m almost speechless so......   8)   8)   8)   8)   8)   8)   8)   8)
Hmmm... just almost...  look below, maybe that will help  ;)  (I am just kidding)

Now see if you can squeeze some ST300 pliers in there! :pok: :D
Don't think the thought didn't cross my mind lol. The ST300 plier head barely fit into my Surge.....

This is waaaay to cool!! SUB ZERO!!
Hat down!!
I am guessing that sub zero and hat down are a good thing lol. Thank you edcgear.....

http://forum.multitool.org/Smileys/default/gimme.gif frikin AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++++++++++++ why are u not part of the LM design/build team already ??? love it to bits man.
Thank you rayraychil.....

Thanks AHB, I never did get into the social networking thingy. You spoke a little too soon though. See below.....  ;)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey gang. Evil here yet again. When I first set out to do this project, the original plan was to put a ratchet in the carabiner area. With the creation of my inline ratcheting bit driver to fit the large bit driver of this and most of my other Leatherman tools, it would have been redundant to create a ratchet for this project. The alternate plan was to install a LED light system but I simply never got around to doing so. I used my Skeletool, as is, for about a year as my EDC. With my recent addition of the new knife blade, it kind of persuaded me to make the effort to finish the carabiner area.....

~ evil ~

The Multitool gods looked upon Evil's Project Skeletool and said... let there be LIGHT!!!

Rather than going through the trouble of making a new housing from scratch, I decided to make use of the carabiner cover that I had already been using for over the past year. I machined discs to fill the existing holes. Wanting a nice, clean interface, I made the largest one on the front side the on/off button for the micro pressure switch. For the light source I used two 3mm ultra white, water clear LED's @ 20,000mcd each. Powered by common alkaline button cells. The whole unit is self-contained and can be moved from one Skeletool to another by simply enlarging the hole where the original spring clip resided to accomodate the mounting bolt. Filled with an epoxy resin to withstand all of the shock and vibration of using the hammer. To compliment the rest of the tool I went with contrasting finishes: polished finish for the housing and brushed finish for the discs. Subtle, but, more apparent from different angles. A few close-up shots.....

A few random full-view shots from different angles so you can better see the brushed finished on the cover discs vs. the polished housing.....

A few test shots. Bright enough to make you want to turn away if you stare at it for a few seconds. These photos don't do it justice. I was using my phone. It doesn't show the light flooding as well as it does in real life. You can easily navigate a room in total darkness. Not bad for such a tiny thing. If I get a chance, I will break out my real camera that will show exactly what I am seeing on my end.....

That's why the whole thing is filled with an epoxy resin :-) There aren't any moving parts to fail. To know me is to know I thoroughly test all my mods. I'm gonna beat the crap out of it today ;-)

Curious as how you will change batteries, or if you had given thought to a rechargable battery inside with either a common or magnetic-induction charge. Clever idea, and I concur about the comment, "And I thought it couldn't get better!"

Fabulous idea! Leatherman/LED Lenser should be green with envy on the idea. You sure you haven't made your first $500K yet?!?  :D

Just digging up this ancient thread because of the new thread by Nuphoria on replacing the knife on a skeletool with scissors; and the general lack of modders working on the Skeletool.

Yah, it's not on my high list since the tools are so specific.

I think adding some custom color would REALLY set it off.
