Join me in my excitement.
on: July 01, 2010, 11:02:43 PM
I have just pulled the trigger on something I have wanted for possibly 12+ years, an oldie Tag F1. :nanadance:

A friend of mine had one of these when I was younger and I have lusted after one and gone to get one many many times in the past, but have always bottled it as it isn't the cheapest of watches.  This one is used though and was pretty cheap so only a little guilt this time, but do keep an eye out for a Benner's stuff sale coming up soon.  :tu:

I know the drill.  :D

FYI it's a stainless steel strap, black bezel and white dial. Bezel a bit worn (as most are) but considering what it will suffer at work that is no concern.  The bezels are also replaceable anyway.

Good luck with that.  I bought an Orange Monster for a good deal, even though I wanted the black one.  Once it arrived and I got it on a better band I was hooked on the Orange.  I have had several people offer to trade me black ones for my orange, and it's still here!

I'd consider trading for a yellow one to match my Jeep though... :D

I had an oppurtunity to get an F1 and kick myself daily for not getting it.  Now the Monster is the perfect watch for me, and I just can't get on with this damn rubber wriststrap.  I need a metal one, anyone have one...I'll gladly trade you for it.

Sorry Zack- I have an original rubber one.  I've never got on with bracelets, and I prefer leather.  I have a nice wide band one that I wear with it.

This will be my first SS as I have only ever had rubber leather or nato straps so it will be an interesting test.  The OM is gorgeous  but at the price over here I'm hoping I can convince myself I dont need one.  :D

You aren't helping.  :twak: :D

Watches have always been a soft spot of mine, even when I was really young.  Not really sure why, but I saved up my pocket money many times to buy a watch from Argos.  :D

Not yet...I still need to send him my two 6309's that crapped out on me.  I'm thinking out of all the parts when can at least get one working.  Of course that would mean I would need to get my lazy butt to the post office.

That's pretty much what I say.  :D  The F1 isn't even that amazing a watch and the movement makes it pretty basic, but the fact that it is a Tag makes it just that bit special to me.

Well it is here and I would have taken pictures already, but it is so dirty it has had to have a full clean first.  Lucky for the seller, he sold it to me - a weirdo that will actually get more pleasure cleaning up the thing.  :D

Maybe just after...  :D

BTW, mine is the mid sized case and is quite a small watch by todays standards and isn't for everyone.  Being a skinny git with 6" wrists, it's one that has always appealed to me.

Ok here are some quick snaps.  Bezel is worn like I said, but even factoring in a new one, I still did well.
