My SAKs came today
on: July 09, 2010, 12:23:17 AM
Hello everyone.  Here are two SAKs that I got in the mail today from a trade.  One is a Wenger Esquire and the other is a Deluxe Tinker.  Now the Tinker came with the stock red scales and I changed the scales and added the lanyard.  I am very please with them both and the deluxe tinker is one of my dream SAKs.  My next dream SAK is a Victorinox Swisschamp.

When In doubt, C4

Nice scales. You can also get the Swiss Champ in sapphire - it's on my wishlist

Yes, sapphire scales are indeed  worthy.

The Deluxe Tinker is a very nice EDC SAK. You can't go wrong with it.

Well, it's not Super Tinker...*cough*I'm biased*cough*...but, yes, the Deluxe Tinker is a very, very, VERY nice SAK.  Grats!

Maybe a Cybertool 34 or 41 should be added if nothing else than for the bit driver.  All the basic funtionalty of the Swisschamp, only better.

The swisschamp is indeed a dream SAK.  I regret getting rid of mine.  Another will be added when funds are available.  Right now I'm waiting on a new style Explorer that I ordered some time ago.  I really want to get the old style magnifier, but seeing as I won't EDC it due to rarity, it isn't a priority.  Sazabi is kindly(hopefully) holding one for me, but as I said, I can't buy it until I have some slush money.  Way to go with the deluxe tinker, and the sapphire scales are sweet!

I am enjoying EDC-ing that Deluxe Tinker.  I like it very much and yeah the scales are sweet.  I am a sucker for translucent scales, not sure why.

Those Explorers aren't going anywhere, Mercury, so no worries.  :tu:  And I'd not go so far as to call them rare, but they aren't as easily found as the current magnifier/shorter* Phillips Explorers.

* - Yes, there was a year or so transition with the current magnifier and the older long-shank Phillips, but meh, I'm just giving a Sparknotes version. :D

I will end up with one, just don't know when!  Thanks for being patient!

It's no problem at all; it gives me time to debate about keeping the other two, or just eventually getting a couple modern Explorer Pluses as reserve EDC knives. :)
