Finally got the tattoos on my arm completed

7 years ago I had the vision of what I wanted my right arm to be like.  I wanted various important pieces of my life surrounded by a frame of tribal, but not your standard tribal like every one else had.  After getting various bits done over the first couple of years, I ran out of important things (and money) and so waited until the ideas came to me.  After a while they did and 2 days ago I got it all finished off;


 


All a bit scabby ATM, but should look cool when finished.

Nope, filled in is what everyone and their mother has.  The shading is just a bit different and I didn't want it to overpower the important parts on there.

Agreed. It's a case of where more wouldn't necessarily be better.

If you are thinking of getting one, take my advice and assume you will want to get more and build what you want into something larger like a sleeve.  I didn't at the start, but was lucky.  Tattoo's are very addictive and if you try and place in a location that you like and one that will give you plenty of options and flexibility in the future, then you can make additional plan if when you get the urge to get more.

I certainly think so.  The important pieces on that arm are the pieces in that tribal, the tribal is merely decorative and framing so I didn't want all the focus on that.

Best approach IMO.

Oh and another piece of advice, don't get something out of any tattoo book.  Take time and get a custom piece which is just yours.  It will take longer (I had to wait 3.5 months to have my last one drawn) but soooo worth it.
