Depends on what you're photographing.  If you're taking pictures of anything metallic or really shiny (watches, jewellry, diecast cars or toys), you're going to need a light tent with a front sheet with a slit on it.

Otherwise, it should be fine.  Truth be told, they're not that difficult to make though.

Stay away from it, you will be disappointed.

I had the same kit that I bought when I was teaching photography at work. I found the dual sided drop cloth will get a fold crease dead center...which you will have to iron out as it will ruin your background each and every time. The lights are anemic at best, and give off a yellow light. These types of kits limit you on your background and they do require quite a bit of tabletop real estate. On a regular kitchen table, you won't be able to place the lights far enough, and you will get hot spots through the fabric.

Thanks chako I have just started to use my old tripod (from my film camera days) and I get much better results except you cant shoot from directly overhead the legs get in the way.
