leatherman warranty mistake
on: August 29, 2007, 06:09:46 PM
ok so I sent my surge and pst to be fixed- and leatherman sent me a prepaid envelope no problem. They sent me a prepaid because they did not fix them). So I went on ups.com and the shipping method said 2nd day air. So i emailed shellee kennedy and said was there a shipping mistake? And she is like- quote- Yes, it appears there was.  But it's all to your benefit.....enjoy! And I recieve my surge and pst in about 10 minutes. My pst was so broken I think they are going to replace it with a blast. Because there are no more pst's or something like that. I wouldnt mind it :).

PST's were discontinued long ago, which is why the warranty always says "repair or replace" at their discretion.  The Blast is a bit bulkier than the PST, which is a good thing because it provides more surface area to grip when using the pliers, which makes them significantly more comfortable to use.

Good to hear that you are pretty happy so far!

Its really weird! I called up Shellee Kennedy and shes like if you PST is not repairable it will be replaced with a blast. I'm like well why not just give a fuse or something, and she's like thats what we give... I guess they give you the blast because it has a file and so does the pst? Anyways I got a refurbished pst. It makes no sense whatsoever. The pst is in great condition though!

Yah I would love to think that Leatherman would upgrade on a replacement , but the buissness man in me says they might go with something of the same value. Also it is non locking. We can hope for him though.

Hey, I was just at K-mart today and I bought a micra on sale.  There was several PSTs there.  You might want to try K-mart if there is one in your area.
