More pen questions.

I'm considering getting myself a good pen. I want a pen that is good looking and rugged without looking like a weapon. I don't really want a "tactical pen" because I am not, nor have I ever been a Ninja. I just want something that will last if I drop it constantly.

Another one I'm looking at is the Fisher AG7. I like the price of that one a lot better. Is it a good pen?

Any other suggestions would also be greatly appreciated. I'd like to keep the price below $100 but it certainly doesn't cost me anything to look at pricier ones.  

But no hurry, I'm actually looking for my Xmas present. That's assuming I'm a good boy and Santa is good to me.

What type of pen , Fountain pen , ball point , rollerball etc etc ? My present fave is a Lamy 2000 rollerball , a Lamy Scribble ballpoint , and the Scribble 4mm? mechanical pencil .

Personally I think you're hard pushed to beat a Parker for a non-disposable.  No, its not posh but they last and last.

Just a ballpoint pen. I don't want anything "exquisite" if y'all know what I mean. Just a good looking, rugged and reliable pen. Preferably one that takes easy to find refills.

For decades, I've been using the Uniball rollerball pens.  Fantastic stuff.  They're not high-end (They're maybe $5 a piece) but they can take a beating like there's no tomorrow.  They're also rollerball which I LOVE.  The ink is much smoother than ballpoint and it writes effortlessly.

The problem with the Fisher AG7 is the cartridge release button tends to sporadically slip while writting, causing your pen to retract. If you're interested in a Fisher pen, I'd recommend the bullet pen. They come in a variety of colors and take their most common refill.

I'd say go with a Parker. They really are great pens, and you'd be able to get nine spares with your budget I'd say to go with the full steel barreled model, just FYI. They make ones with different colored plastic barrels, but those look pretty tacky.

Plus Parker Jotter pens accomodate the Fisher pressurized refills

Day to day I find the cheap Parker Jotter with the plastic barrel a better bet than the SS model.  More comfortable to use.  I sometimes find after prolonged use my fingers slip a bit on the metal versions. 

They did use to do an all steel model with little ridges at the bottom .  Not seen one for sale though

I once dropped a steel barrel one on the floor and it dented in the cartridge opening making the pen useless.  That wouldn't have happened with the plastic barrel version.
