I picked up one of the latest renditions of the Mini Mag LED . I was basically looking for a AA feuled backup light for work . All in all not too bad , the head twist focus that never worked well for incans , seems to work well for LED's . I cant see using either the blink or SOS mode , but you never know .

Had these things been around back in the early ninties , I probably never would have made the jump to Surefires . Nice not to have to worry about blown incan bulbs ( I used to carry two mini's back in the day- bad experience with an incan bulb pooping the bed at the wrong time ) .

They just don't appeal even as back up's to me these days

You can take the pill out of 2D and put it in 2AA, makes a much brighter one mode light. I did it to mine and put diffuser film on it and it's perfect for around the house.

Down side is you must run rechargeable with it.

I snagged one when they went on sale for $10 at Homeless Depot.   Wish this latest multimode model were as short as the original incandescent Mini Mag LED.

I hear ya on the length , all my old minimag flap holsters are no good . The best mini upgrade I have seen to date was an original with a TerraLux drop in . the only fly in the soup , the TerraLux drop in is worth more than the minimag .

I like it as a loaner light , and it's a not bad Kubo.

I cant see using either the blink or SOS mode , but you never know .

I normally avoid  lights with the disco modes, but this is one light that I actually don't mind them on.

I have one of these lights that I keep in the car, specifially because it has the blink and SOS modes.
