Did a little routine lube on the Wave today.

When was it uploaded? cause photo attachments use to do that to me as well but I think Whoey worked the bugs out of it :salute: I havent noticed this probably with anyone's photos that were attached lately anyways  try it again and maybe it will do it correct this time  also it could be due to the ration that avatar pics are and the size ratio that the pic was  hopefully some of my rambling helps, if not sorry  :D

It's called Gibb's Lube.  All purpose lubricant, and I believe it's available in the UK.  You have to order it online through an authorized distributor.  It's also available on Amazon.  I've used it for years, pretty much; on on everything that moves.  Great for automotive, knives, and firearms!  It's been around since 1969.  I'll provide a link so you can read more about it.

Hi guys,

First post here. (Many thanks to Grant for getting me set up!  Had some trouble with the system getting registered.)

I spent a lot of time over on Bladeforums years ago (HI Cantina), and then over on Knifeforums from time to time (Bark River mostly), but have been out of circulation for a long while.  Getting a bit into Multitools now.  I've actually had an old original Leatherman (the PST I believe) since 1992, then got a MUT for my range bag a couple of years ago, with bit driver and bits.  I modded the sheath a little to get things to fit the way I wanted, but that's a different thread and post.

Anyway, just got a Wave + last week, with a 4.5" snap sheath with pockets.  That allows me to get two cards of bits and the drive extension, and a small light into the package, which turned out great.

I'd like to upgrade the 420 blades, but then again, maybe I should just get a new tool instead right?   :dunno:   :D  Anyway, love to look at all these classic waves, so thanks for starting this thread, and for all the info I know I'm going to pull from you folks.

Welcome to :MTO:  svashtar :tu: I would opt to get a Charge  + if you want the upgraded blades :tu: unless you go aftermarket the serrated blade doesn't have a better steel in any option though :dunno: it has a gut hook with the Charge + or Charge TTi + or regular TTi  only 154CM with any of the AL models and S30v for any of the newer titanium models :salute:

Or just do like most of us and start trying to buy all of them ::)

Thanks guys, appreciate the welcome!  That was it, the Charge, not the Surge.  I guess my big question is, since the Wave + and the Charge + are almost identical, if you think it’s worth it to get both?  I mean, if I managed to snag an S30V blade for my Wave+, then I’d basically have a Charge, correct?

(Although I do read that some folks think the Charge has more comfortable handles than the Wave.  (?))

Bottom line, I guess I COULD justify one for each car, one for my go bag, one as an EDC...  .  Lots of neat models, and so far I’ve just been looking at Leatherman.

Poncho, just noticed:  I know about the Charge+ and the Charge TTi +, but what is a regular TTi?  Did you mean the pre-plus Charge TTi?

Trying to get all the models straight.  Thanks very much!
