Mind if I join the club? Love my new BO

Nice multi, nakken.  As I always say, "don't be afraid of the dark."  :tu:

Thanks eTripper, beautiful SS

It's great to have outside-accessible blades for a change, and the pocket clip is definately worth it. I still haven't decided which looks better, but I've always wanted a BO. They both look stunning, I might have to buy an SS as well and carry one on each side :ahhh

I like the 'black-out versions' of the Leather's too!  Kind of hard to resist buying-one.  I've been eyeing some Cold Steel, SOG blades for future purchase options.  :dunno:

Anyone have any good tips to loosen up the pliers?  I've had my current Wave for around 3 years and I still have to force the pliers open.  I probably carry and use these 100 days every year so this has become a real pain.   I may go out and use a heat gun to try and melt out any gunk from that pivot point.   The handles have gotten loose enough that I don't have to fold each side down independently, but they are still stiff as well.

I’ve found this works for me: First remove all oil and dirt to get back to a ‘metal-on-metal’ contact environment at the pivot. This is best done via a long soaking in water and strong detergent, with repeated opening/closing and flushing. Once dry, use the pivot stiffness to build friction at the pivot by repeated opening/closing. You want to feel some heat at the pivot, as this shows the friction is building up and the metal is bedding in. The pivot may even get stiffer as the pivot heats up and builds up some metal grindings. Once it’s apparent the friction has helped a little, only then add a light oil and this will draw out the filings (dark gunky oil). You may need to repeat everything again. It’s a slow process, but I’ve found this works for me...  :salute:

Thanks Max Stone.   At least it has finally gotten to the point of the handles not folding when I try to open the pliers.  I also think I misstated how long I've had the tool (darn grey matter ossifying) I believe I've had it since 2013, so that means 6 years.
I'm considering putting it in my ultrasonic cleaner and using window cleaner as the solution.  I'll let you know how that works out.

That will be a plan ultrasonic cleaning is phenomenally effective at dislodging hidden gunk  :tu:

Oh boy, so much stuff came out!  5 cycles in the ultrasonic and it finally stopped leaching out gray water.   Now, to dry and fold and unfold.   I don't think it was this clean when I first got it!

The pliers are incrementally better, so I'll just keep using them.

Thanks for the likes everyone, I figure now, with two of them... I can "wave" with both hands!  lol.

eTrip.. very nice!  I'm glad they finally upgraded the Wave with the 154CM cutters.  My SS Wave has some dings in the cutters I had to use the file on my BO Wave to smooth out; she was binding on closing otherwise.
