And then you might be tempted to put BO tools in it.

If I ever am lucky enough to get another with Orange handles then you might just get to see that mod ;) of course they aren't exactly plentiful   :D

Fair enough, I'll wait then; 👴

OTOH, so sad that the Calendar Picture Thread's gone, as the pictures (and there quality) has improved. Poncho, would you mind if I then save the "Waves on the Rocks" picture?

The modded Core is for my work EDC (loaded in a Nite Ize Pock-its XL). That leaves me in need of a MT for my off work EDC (also loaded in a Nite Ize Pock-its XL). My choices are OG Super Tool, an unused Rebar, or this used Wave. I love the OG Super Tool, but it is in good shape and completes my Super Tool collection. The Rebar is perfect for my off work EDC, but I have an aversion to using a new Leatherman. So, that leaves me with the dirty, used Wave that came along with the black ES4 that I bought some weeks ago.

I will probably leave my mark on this MT also.

Don’t know why I’ve never stopped by here before. For years I’ve obsessed over SAKs and other traditional slipjoint pocket knives and have been active on several related forums.
I suppose it’s because the Wave for me has always been just a tool. Nothing fancy, just pure utility. But, for ten years this multi tool has ridden on my belt and always served me well. It has been abused, neglected, help earn me a paycheck and gotten me out of countless jams. After a decade of almost daily use my Wave is still going strong, hell it seems as if it’s  just now getting broken in. Everything is still tight, no play anywhere. The only thing that is really worn is the diamond file, and even then it’s only mellowed to a finer grit which still works great for putting an edge on my other knives.

Even the original sheath is still going strong; the elastic flashlight holster is a bit loose but I sewed a leather extension over the top to make sure whatever I carry is secure.

I’ve bought other Multis since, even some that are technically nicer than the Wave in many ways, but the design to me is something that has yet to be surpassed for ease of carry and practicality, so the Wave remains on my belt.

I once found myself in need of straight pin to make my smartphone work and this thing is hard, almost impossible to replicate. Today, once again I popped the sim card in the iPhone right before I went out the door and thought it might be a good idea to have a pin on me. Now that's not a problem when I carry almost any of my SAKs but when I carry a MT I don't want to have a sak too. A Vic might seem redundant, but I might take a dedicated knife or two :D
Anyway, I was wondering how to carry a pin with the Wave. Looked around it and though that the space under the file looks promising since from the outside tools it's the least used, for me at least. I opened it up, trow the pin inside and closed the file. It closes well, it don't get in the way of using the other tools. Great, I just need to remember it's there if I need to use the file so I won't lose it. But when I turned the tool a few times the pin came out from the space between the file and the frame. Not cool, since I like to pocket carry that thing. It needed to have a bit thicker end so it won't fall out, maybe a handle of sorts. So I got a piece of bamboo earbud, drilled a 1.5 mm whole about halfway through, stuck the pin inside and filled the whole with few drops of super glue. Now it stays where it's supposed to and the file closes normally :multi:

Just spotted what looked like a BO wave in the 2015 film Tomb Raider.  :woohoo:
