My second Wave broke today.
It has been my workhorse for maybe 8 months...
Just like with gen 1, this new model will give up on the cutting part. This time both sides fractured at the same time.

Still love this tool and will probably get a new one. At least Wave is more robust than TTi.

Just a basic soft steel pin cutting, but I guess 420hc isnt much stronger. :)
I wont send tools in warranty when I have broke them myself, only those that are defect from the start (like Raptor and Skeletool from Leatherman). Kinda attached to this one already. My older Wave actually broke when I was opening an M5 nut, that kinda pissed me off 'bout year ago 'cause it should have been able to do that. Still my goto tool this Wave, so useful. :)

what your describing could have been a defect? If you didn't want to send it in, I understand. You could just do a plier swap for maybe a Rebar with replaceable cutters. Escpexially if you want to keep your tool.  :tu:

Well there was a problem with the lock on my (now long gone) Skeletool CX, where the blade overturned. Similar thing with Raptor handle. Waves have always been as good as they get, my work is just too much for them. No one to blame but my self here, no tool last forever. And LMs are pretty complicated to begin with, more weak spots. They are just so much fun to use. :)

I have no hurries getting new wave, but I have to think if I like gen 1 or 2 more... :) What do you guys say?

This one now grabs bolts better, I just use my Knipex side cutters with it for a while.

Maybe I should go for those new pliers with rougher tip?

Also I do have some extra stripping power with the good old fat awl mod. :D
