Autumn's coming
on: August 31, 2007, 06:51:42 AM
For those of us that don't live in the US,Labor Day weekend signals the end of summer.Summer activities begin to wind down, and  autumn takes over.I'll still ride as long as weather permits, but I'll be taking up some serious hiking, and with me will be the Vic Spirit, and a GAK,either the new One Hand Trekker version,or good old 108mm version.
So what will you all be doing this fall, and what will be with you?

The fall is when I start pushing some longer hikes to get ready for a big hike in May.  Normally I'll take a big knife if it's short distances... or a Meduim blade or Spirit for everything else.
If you took all the intestines out of your body and stretched them end to end... you would die.

I'll keep kayaking as long as I can, but unfortunately hiking is out for me.  I tend to hibernate in the winter as I really don't care for the cold, especially around here where it gets cold and wet.

I'll be doing a lot of hiking and camping on the weekends as fall and winter are my favorite times to camp.  I'll be bringing my Benchmade Fixed Griptillian and my Leatherman Charge Tti mostly, I guess.  Maybe my old Buck 119 will make it on a few trips as well, since I've had it for 15 years.

My wife and I really get into the Halloween spirit too.

Autumn is a great time of the year for us.  The cool nights around the fire pit with friends are what we enjoy the most.

I love having campfires too.  There's just something relaxing about them.

I prefere autumn and spring too, I find that the heat off summer sap's what little strength I have ;D

Seriously though i think the human body perform's best around 10 to 15 degree's celsius, over or under those temprature's and you calorie/water requirment's go up, then so does your pack weight which means your working harder still, so you need even more food and water ::)

Plus the view's are awesome in the wood's as you have such a contrast of colours :)
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!
