this time a st16 same as the sub as reliable movement, i hope in future projects to get some swiss ETA movement s but the prices will be a lot higher  :-\

Nice project you have going there, looks dangerously close to the real thing.  Can the movement be maintained by most any competent local watch jeweler?

yes the st16 is a copy of the swiss ETA type movement so easy to service, but TBH these should go on for a few years and then its not too expensive to replace the movement for a new one  :tu:

Probably not worth putting in an ETA unless you get a real good deal on a batch of movements.  A GMT version might be interesting.  What is the case diameter on the DEEP SEA?

Oh, that might be a bit thick for me... more pix on a wrist please?

Or, I can just try it and pass it on to a nother member if it's too thick.

Ive got 5 old swiss movements that i have working spot on , i might build a few one off subs with them ,later in the year,

no wrist pics yet of the deepsea but that pic is a bit miss leading as not as thick as it looks,

i wont be starting this project till the end of sept so no rush as i dont wont money till nearer the time in case i have to change the date.

ok i should have at least 6-7 done by wed thurs and hopefully more parts through this week , i hope to get the case backs done by the end of this week and once ive gone over each watch i hope to send them by the end of the following week, the next project should all be quicker as ive had a few posting issues plus been sent a few wrong bits  :-\ includint being sent 3 wrong sized straps, so again i thank you for all your Patience, sadly my other issue is my work who as asked me to do more night shifts this week but means i have more time at the end of the week, so all good  :tu:

Another comparison pic, the sub wears nicer under cuffs, but the deepsea has a nice wrist presents,  :tu: plus the case im getting is thinner then the rolex seadweller deepsea,

One thing to note guys the Rolex case is not the case Paul will be using I think they were to show the difference in dia i.e 39.5 and 44mm not the thickness of the deepsea 44mm project I'm guessing it'll be no more thicker than a Seiko SKX007 which is 13mm thick that IMO is not bad + when it's on the wrist you wont have 13mm proud off the wrist as the watch hugs the wrist,it'll be more like 10mm proud  ;)

Anyway I like chunky divers  :D

How do you open the case backs?

No slots in those.  I guess one wouldn't need to since they are automatics...
