I just want to point out and warn users of Nato straps  ;) mine was a cheap one £5.75 and it now shows worn only two weeks or so and I've already had to reheat the seems  :ahhh my problem now but I just wanted to say  :tu:

(Image removed from quote.)

[edit]these are not of the quality Paul is offering here,as I can tell the thickness is a lot less just by looking at the pics,mine was of ebay but I needed one ASAP stone the crows   ::)

sadly john many people buy the thinner natos as there usually cheaper,i actually find the thinner ones comfy, but they also usually have the cheaper buckles etc,mine have the one piece buckles as the whole point is a solid strap,but even the thick ones can fray john, the ones i get are around £8-9 and well worth those extra few ££  :tu: :tu:

In comparison to others how are the CountyComm Natos?  They are the only ones I've seen.

I'm wearing a County Comm Zulu right now.  It's been abused for 5-6 years, and is still like new.

Thanks, I have some around here from a previous project I need to find them.  I never found a mechanical watch I really loved on a Nato or Zulu nylon strap.  Maybe I'm just a bracelet guy, but I do have a quartz on a manufactures standard-style nylon strap for when I'm at the ocean; I find it OK for a short time. I did like the color combination of the 'Bond' strap, but since I'm not bond I don't think I can wear that.  I don't think CountyComm makes the bond colors anyway.

Oh yeah, it gets smelly after some sweat.  I occasionally take the watch off at night and soak the whole thing in soapy water in the sink.  It seems to take care of it.

I guess I shouldn't really say my zulu is "like new".  It has the black oxide hardware, and some of that has worn off.  There's really no noticeable wear to the fabric though.

It's not easy to swap the band out on this particular watch I have the zulu on.  The pins are close to the case, and with the thickness of the band, it won't slide out.  So, I would have to take the pins out every time I swapped, and I'm WAY to lazy to do that.

ryan1835, they do get mildly annoying if you have plenty of watches and you rotate quite often. When it is the automatic's time, you have to wear it a little, and then set your time. You are good for the day or more after that. I remember the wind ups...and would never go back to those if given a choice. As for batteries, I am not overly fond of those either, as once your battery dies and it needs replacing, there goes your waterproofing. Automatics are to wind up, like solar power is to battery. :D

ive only got 2 watches including this one and its battery i tried wearing it since this one but i dont like how "small" it is anymore  :P

and call me ryan

Yeah and if you compare to a analogue watch which IMO are easier to read JMO,often you also need light if you cant see in poor light with Digi,no bad thing I like them but after owning three Casio G shock "Flight deck black boxes,we called them here" watches,gave them away to family  ::) I find ano with good lume suites me better  ;)

@Ryan 39.5mm mate  ;)

yep or 40mm case to crown,  :tu:

the lume on the Z1 is pretty good and last for at least 6-8 hours depending on charge, i have to say the markers on the Z2 are brighter but dont last as long, still all good lumes,  :tu:
