My latest SAK is... no SAKs at all.
Spent the day in Zürich and saw a huge amount of nice stuff. Couldn't decide what to get so just bought nothing at all :)

Worth mentioning: several Ranger Topos, Zürich flagship store SAKs, colored Wengers (bus, cow, cheese). Swiza knives, Edelweiss scales and a Morgarten battle SAK. Thought about buying that one since it's the only battle series knife that's missing in my collection.

You go to Switzerland and don't buy a SAK!?

They were originally sold through military base exchanges (BXs) about 20 years ago.  Now they regularly show up on ebay.

Thanks. I see you found Army and Air Force.  Naturally it was Navy I searched when I went looking for the and came up empty.

I also got mine from eBay. The Army and Air Force are quite common. There are always a few available. The Marine Corps is less common but still pops up once a month. The Navy and Coast Guard versions are much rarer, the ones I got were the only ones I found on eBay in the last 3 months or so.

This is not my latest SAk but my latest Kit.

I decided to create a new SOS kit.I included all of the elements of the SOS kit with the addition of sharpening steel, new LED Solitaire, spare batts,a ferrocerium rod by Exotac and I substituted the Champ with a WorkChamp.

Picked something up for approximately USD35 inclusive of shipping.

It's definitely well-worn -- the blade has scratches and burns(?) and the wood saw tip was slightly bent.  Managed to get 90% audible click back after a bath in penetrating oil.

It's a Wenger Toolchest, right?

Exactly what that is, but possibly a Pre-EVO S54?

The Wenger EvoGrip S54 (with locking main blade) is the Evolution version of the Tool Chest Plus, and it has been carried across into the Victorinox Delemont line as the EvoGrip S54.

An interesting old Wenger Tahara, the scale material seems like an earlier cellidor than Wengerinox knives with similar Suisse badge. It's a different shade of red and is thinner as well. It also has 2 rivets, where most Wengerinox knives have 1.

Geez! That thing is horrid!

Please, let me take it out of your hands. I'll send you a brand new proper SAK, with the same but updated tools...

A while back I picked up a batch of Classics with these scenes on them. Today I added full-sized Spartans and Tinkers.

Definitely an earlier version of the plastic handles. The earlier fiber handles had two center pins; most of the plastic ones had one.

Nice!   :tu:

You've come up with some pretty classy items so far. At the rate you're going expect you'll have a fiber one before long.
