Camper blade would need slight re-profile to resurrect.  Super Tinker is in good shape, may have to keep this one. Old Cross Pioneer in pretty good shape too. Discoloration on blade is just residue.

Wanted to ask for some help dating this camper...after cleaning it a bit I notice:

-No hole on awl
-No groove on corkscrew
-No scale tools
-Remnants of an old shield type logo
-Tang markings as shown

Also I tried to photograph the extensive scratches on the blades.  I know this is just a camper, but given its age I'm wondering if it would be best to leave it as is or if I should clean up the blades (trying my best to remove as little material as possible).

Bit of a story, and a surprise that I found this at the local knife store.   I went there to look for a Utica Kutmaster Workman series (same as Klein Tools) carbon steel hawkbill, which they didn't have (store doesn't even carry Utica/Kutmaster products, which means I guess it's off to United Central Mine Supply next to order a Klein), so I headed to the Victorinox case.   I asked one of the clerks to open the Victorinox case, and asks me which one to get out of the display. I point to a four layer 111mm model, thinking it was an Outrider.   I look it it closer, and notice nearly 10 year old Fireman!   So, I immediately bought it, for the pretty low 2007 retail of $37, less than I paid for my 2013 Soldier!   It has the DE-GM patent on the blade, and the old, low profile linerlocks.   Comfortwise, I like it better than my Soldier as one, the OHO hole was always getting in the way, and I missed a plain edged blade and the scale tools of my 91mm SAKs.  It's a bit fat and heavy for pocket carry, but luckily I had a SwissTool Spirit sheath I'd ordered by mistake (but forgot to return) for my Soldier '08 that fit it perfectly.

Picked these babies up for my son's birthday....a Spartan and an unbelievably clean, unmarked Fly Fisherman with the Zermatt pouch and sharpener.  My stone age camera doesn't do this knife justice.  Thanks Robert for the heads up brother!!

Flea market find of the day:
- Victorinox SuperTinker
- Victorinox Mountaineer
- Victorinox Tourist (H&K branded)
- Victorinox SwissCardLite

The Ranger on the back is for "scale" ... and it shows its old file -now i have a newer/better one with the mountaineer-
Now i want Black or Red Nylon scales for the SuperTinker/Mountainer and they will be my EDC

This is my latest from the flea market this morning.  I find the odd Victorinox or Wenger there but usually in moderate to bad condition - this one isn't much different.

It has a nail file and blade but also has an led ;)

Unfortunately it's missing the tweezers and the scale is broken a bit in the area of the led.  Wenger Tweezers will stay in place so it's ok as a user but won't win any beauty contests.  The batteries (swiss made so likely original) still work and are easy to change:

There is a small embossed "headlight" on the side opposite to the cross and when it's pressed the LED is activated.

I have a couple of the Victorinox LED knives but this is the first Wenger I've seen.

John.
