Bought my first Wenger today!

I was cruising thriftshops today and saw this Wenger Skier in a drawer behind glass.
Since I only have Victorinox I just walked by. The skier on the scale cought my attention however and once I left the store I did a quick search on my phone.
SAKwiki said it was a hard to obtain model. I thought, "No it's not, it's right there!"
So I went back and picked it up for a steal!

I've been able to date it to 1980-1990 but don't have enough evidence to put a more precise date on it.

The knive is virtually new, apart from some scale damage. The nifty chain scrathed up the skier print a little.
The tools however are all in very good shape, there is litte evidence of use. And both the toothpick and tweezer are present.
Whoever bought this knife never took it skieing!

I don't think I will keep it though, might sell it or trade it.

Just got this one today, I'm going to leave it in the package for now, and see if these Wounded Warrior knives gain any collector value over time. If not, then I'll probably open it then and use it. :)

There are two different kinds of black Swisstools?
I didn't know that. But of course this is my first plier based multitool so I need to learn a lot about those  :D

Anyway the one I bought is the Dutch Army issue version  :salute:

The tool itself doesn't have insignia of Dutch armed forces but the leather sheath has the "interservice" logo (logo that represents Dutch Army, Air Force and Navy).

There were a couple of them for sale on Marktplaats (Dutch eBay-like site). This one is still for sale and shows how this model looks like: http://link.marktplaats.nl/m1125434837

The one on the left is a Spirit S BO... It has a more matte finish compared to burnished look on the Spirit XBS... Burnished is Victorinox's current offering...

I read somewhere that when you use it, the matte black finish wears off quite easy and turns into something like dark grey?

Australian armed forces also used to issue a similar BO tool to their soldiers correct? Is there any difference in that model from the ones you have?

I've read somewhere that theirs are the swisstool version (not spirit) with NATO inventory code of some sorts... similar to that of the French forces... definitely BO finish...
