Walked by this baby several time every week. It's been in the window of a local store for over a year (it was sun-bleached from day one). Anyway, in Switzerland it is wrong to discuss over prices and haggle so I have put it off for quite a while. But today I found the courage to go in and offer $75 (half of what he was asking, and for those who wonder CHF1 == USD1). Anyway, never got to make an offer because he said I can have it for 50 :D

Now I can found the "SAK model with your name owners club" 8)

Congrats, great find!

Picked up a few used today, here they are before cleaning.

SwissFlash 16gb
'97 Soldier
Black Alox Cadet

Nice ones!

A used Original version of the Handyman... Fish scaler instead of pliers.  Seems the previous owner did a bad job of taking care of this baby...

Tools were all stuck and couldn't be opened... gave it some spa treatment... tools now can be opened... Scissors spring was missing, took care of that... corkscrew was bent, took care of that... blade was heavily scratched... sanded it down, only those deep scratches remained... scales were beat up and cracked... replaced it with what I had left in my parts box...

Does anyone know what's the last year for Soldiers with the scraper edge on the cap lifter?

White Ambassador I already had and was using to open packages. Just a couple 58s that came with one of those SOG key knives. Actually a sturdier knife than I thought it would be. Serrated Recruit. Black scales are for a Cybertool 41 rebuild.

I really like the SwissFlash.

I know a shop that has a SwissMemory, probably one of the first models of 2005, laying around.
Is this a rare/valuable knife or should I let it go. It's crazy expensive at €70,- and it has only the memory, a light and a pen.

It sounds expensive for one with only memory, light and a pen.

For comparison: a while back I found a shop that still had one NIB SwissFlash Laser, I bought that one for € 50. And I think the Laser SAKs are much rarer than the ones with a LED.

a nice automobile special, has a fine screw driver on the back tools and screwed scissors

this would be my new daily driver from the handyman if it has the keyring for my belt loop

Congratulations!

I came close to acquiring an Automobile Special SAK but had to pass due to unacceptable flaw.  I then saw a YouTube video in which the presenter found an Automobile SAK on a subway train but replaced the scales that had "an old man's picture of an automobile" with translucent scales.  I assume that the Automobile SAK you will be using will look like the attachment.  It is an excellent acquisition that should serve you well.

Soo...the Hoffritz Super Tinker I won on fleabay some time ago finally showed up. One problem. It's 84mm, which makes it a Salesman. Toothpick and tweezers, no keyring.

Not a problem at all! I'm wrestling with leaving it alone and using it or pilfering the scissors for a Cadet X mod. The only real issue with it is the main blade tip is bent. I could fix it. It's really not that bad.  :poh:

Snowy Mountains.

New Fieldmaster. The blade says 'House of Switzerland 2017'; the box says 'St. Moritz Ski'. The number on the box matches the ad number. Either way a nice looking knife.

Unexpected 84mm scissors always welcomed!

Here's another Salesman along with a few other that arrived today.

The top 4 knives I bought in a lot for $26 shipped. Wasn't sure what they were based on the seller's pic but I took a chance.

Turned out to be:
Inlaid "Camping" Camper, filthy and sticky but tools in good shape.

92-05 Huntsman, opens smooth, rivet scissors/"crossbow" stamp.

Salesman, large blade shot, can key squared phillips chewed up, scissor spring missing (luckily I have one), scissors going to alox mod.

Sportsman, no keyring, metal tweezer head, has bent corkscrew.

And separately I paid $35 for a Hoffritz Master Craftsman (squared can key phillips) for my collection. Didn't have this model. It's in good shape except that it's missing the tweezers and instead has a non-vic toothpick in the tweezers slot. I believe this is supposed to have a metal-head tweazers, right?

A SwissFlash Laser would be the holy grail for me at the moment. A perfect companion since I give presentations every once in a while.
That store wouldn't have another laying around would it?  :D

Well heh...look at this seller's pic though. It was a chance. It's hard to tell 91 from 84 sometimes. I saw the nail file, so I knew that one was 84mm, and the Salesman had the same cap lifter shape so I thought it had to be 84mm scissors I was looking at. But sometimes the tab that holds the spring is broken off and couldnt tell from the photo. But I figured I'd give it a shot. I paid $15 for a Cadet a while ago, showed up with bent blade and twisted can opener. So that was a bummer but I'm gonna try to redeem it by using the alox scales and this 84mm scissors (along with serrated and electrician's blades) for a cool mod.  :tu:
