Just picked up this interesting looking Spartan. Anyone have any idea what the crest is for?

I found a Trail Guide this week. It will reside on the end table beside my chair for periodic nail maintenance chores.

That's the Inderbitzin crest, an old Swiss family.
http://www.chgh.ch/6128-i/inaebnit-ittin/inderbitzin/16836-inderbitzin-schwyz.html
http://www.hls-dhs-dss.ch/textes/d/D22890.php

That then, is a very strange 'D' in the lettering
I tried searching various combinations of o, e and u with or without umlauts etc, with no luck !!
So all I was going to contribute was that it is definitely an Eidelweiss in the picture - So most likely Swiss!!

I wonder how many variations of SAK scales there are worldwide, including advertising scales!!    ???

Thanks!

As with Huntsman I was trying different combinations of vowels, without luck. Definately an odd 'd'.

I'm now in the eco scales club.  I think that the eco line is very underrated. Sure I like the Cellidor but Vinyl can also be practical. Is it a problem that I want as many SAKs I can get my hands on? I can't get enough.

Some years back I was talking with a knife dealer. One of his other customers was also a SAK collector, specializing in advertising Classics. The collector reportedly had over 5,000 Classics. Given all the Classics in Europe and Asia that never made it here, the total number probably runs into the 10s of thousands.

Just bought my daughter her first ever penknife. A SAK Classic (what else? :D ) in this pattern. She will be 12 years old when she gets it. Still many months to go but it's a 2017 limited edition and didn't want to lose the chance. :)

For a awl lot of things xD
Nah, honestly, I don't use it much, but I love having a file to fix a few things like nails or cut / file down plastic or metal shards :-)

AND, the file is perfect to use as a screw driver for laptop screws "in the fields" ;-)

Help a brother out. What's the difference between the 'Bailcrafter' and 'Bushcrafter'?

Might one guess the presence of a bail?

Regardless, that's a sweet looking knife!

Is the mini screwdriver aftermarket?
Were they including those when that model was first introduced?

I *assume* this particular knife came with the mini screwdriver, as the "plus" scales are original, it came with a pin, and the screwdriver is appropriate for the era (round, with "Pat" marking).
