Does this Swiss bread bag count? It's is Swiss and it is a SAcK.

I got a few days ago and just got finished waterproofing it with Snoseal.

This is a great looking bag.   :like:

Thank you!  I'm pretty impressed with both it and the Swiss Engineers rucksack.  Should be a nice, dry pack set up.  Albeit a little on the heavy side.

:like: Nice bag! I've had one myself for the past couple of months. Despite it being so small, it can get a lot of stuff in it. They're heavy built, and should last forever. Mine has served me  as both a book bag and tool bag.  I just don't like how it opens. I assume they had a purpose for it opening that way. I'd just like to know what it was intended to hold. the piece of fabric sewed to the very back of the bag (that looks to be for securing a Thermos or something) has intrigued me, as well as the fact the bag is separated into two sections.

Just picked these two up, haven't checked them out yet but if anyone can put a rough date on these i would be grateful, Vic is stamped "Victoria" and has a crossbow, no keyring or T+T,  Wenger also has crossbow and stamped "Wengerinox" no T+T or ring.
I'm kinda hoping i will be allowed into the vintage SAK thread with these  :D
Bath time for them both, they are a bit filthy..

The Wenger symbol (cross in shield) was the one they used before the current, or last, square(ish) one, with which we are all familiar - ie the one with the Swiss Cross in a square with rounded corners and sides.
The current one was brought in in the 70s - So your knife is before that
Prior your one they had the crossbow in a shield - So I guess 70s or late 60s?

According to Ulli and JazzBass 'Victoria' on tang stamps disappeared in 1974. I guess this applied to the 74mm range too.
So it looks like they are both from the mid 70s

Just my guess - There are many here way more knowledgeable than me!!

As for the Vintage SAK club ???
- I would prefer a little older  ;)  - But you might just make it with 'Victoria' and the older Wenger shield !!   :tu:

PS. Nice old SAKs BTW.
I guess the Vic is a Prince - With that double grooved nail file - Right? - Nice :)

You're post over in the bag forum helped spur my purchase.  I posted in that thread too :)  I believe the "compartment " inside was intended for an issued canteen.

I kinda thought the Wenger was the elder of the two, probably because of the grooved corkscrew and the exposed rivets, regardless of age i like them both anyway, they only cost me £5 for both at a fleamarket so not complaining, it would have been nice to get into the vintage sak club with them but oh well, maybe in a few years  :tu:, i do have my 69 BYSAK though but no way am i admitting that is vintage, its just a youngster really  :D

Im not sure what the Wenger is yet but yes the Vic seems to be a Prince, although the file isn't double grooved, just a flat single file, im guessing an early one, thanks for the info

Yes true and got me thinking
- So I did a bit more research and found a great document by JCFiguet - I think what I said earlier was not quite correct
The plastic Wenger squareish shield came in in the  mid 70s - But there was a metal squarish one before that - and your one came before that.
And according to this doc was around from 1958 to 1963.

So it's over 50 years old -  I'd say you are in the club!!
Apologies for the earlier incorrect info  :twak:

Good acquisitions! I especially like the orange look of the Hunter XT. I've seen that particular model a few times lately. Maybe I need one. :)

Scored an older Champion earlier this week which will be used as mod fodder, also order a couple P7 clips (got some REALLY cheap ones then decided I like them a lot so I ordered a couple better quality ones)  also just ordered some blue translucent plus scales... which shall find their way on to either a Camper or Climber or Explorer

I have so many Classics that it is rare that I bid for a straight 58mm Classic vs a 58mm MiniChamp. I purchased this 58mm Edelweiss Classic last night...

I keep wondering why it's so hard to come across 58mm SAKs here in West Europe, while in other places they go for like $2 a piece

I didn't know that they were hard to come by in Western Europe. For some of my e-bay purchases, the seller includes a free 58mm Classic as a bonus item. That is one of the reasons my 58mm collection keeps growing.
