It was the right time to check eBay...

I believe this is a first generation Master Craftsman  :D

I'm guessing between '52 & '57??

That's a great find!  I've been hunting one of those puppies on eBay for a bit.

I just received this super clean white scale Troubleshooter in the mail today.  I'm still waiting on a Wenger serrated Master, and a Bob Lessard custom Super Tinker to arrive.  These little things are addictive, but you all know that don't you?  ;)

It took me almost three weeks to be able to write this post!
Christmas and new-years are always busy times.

So first off: Happy New Year everybody!

This is the last SAK I bought in 2017. I've been looking for one for a while and have been pestered with a lack of funds when one came along. But I finally have one: a 108mm GAK

Victorinox German Army Knife

Ever since I got my Solo I'm in love with the 108's. The addition of the combo tool, corkscrew and awl make it a very decent EDC SAK.

Large blade and combo-tool

Corkscrew and awl

It's not mint, but in decent enough condition. The scales have minor damage, there is some wear on the blade but the saw looks new. It came with the saw-shield. A must-have if you want to use the bottle opener in my opinion. Like all Victorinox saws this one is thirsty for blood.

108 combo tool; saw with shield, bottle- and cap-opener

It has replaced my smallbenza as an EDC knife since day one. I absolutely love this GAK. The 108mm blade is better at making bread than the 91mm yet is does not scare the plebs I work with.
Also, it's funny to see how nobody recognizes this as a Victorinox or Swiss Knife.

I want one too, but I´d settle for a Pathfinder (blade and saw only).

Wenger Evo 81 for the Patrouille des Glaciers cross-country ski race.

If some one would add this to the Wenger PdG thread in the wiki it would be appreciated.

Hi CS

Nice  :tu:
If some one would add this to the Wenger PdG thread in the wiki it would be appreciated.

Can you tell us what thread or page that is please? - I could only find reference to the PdG in a Wenger 174 Touring page
Should there be a 'series'  page for this set ?  ???
- Or do we just add this to the Wenger 81 page ?

All vintage SAKs, from early eighties. Some rare, some not so much.

Vic Huntsman
Vic Modeler
Vic Champion “C” in black.
Vic Scout Master from 1981 (no scale implements, with Can Key Phillips) from Ruko a Cdn retailer.
Vic Tourist pre 1973
Vic Climber with long nail file.

All, except the 84mm tourist, are New Old Stock and very well preserved in “NEW” condition.

Wow CS - That is great info        and certainly deserves to be in the Wiki      :tu:

I'll add it to my to do list too ...

So much to do --- aaaarrrggghhh   :o

PS . I always thought  'Patrouille des Glaciers'  was some sort of mountain rescue - You know - patrolling the glaciers - Not a race    :twak:   :o

Hey, you guys wanna see something pretty?

It's my first Pioneer, with 'dark gray' scales. Looks black to me, but meh.

There's a good deal that went through on these, and someone's selling them on ebay for like $28 right now, and i snagged one. I was actually looking for a plain silver, but this was the cheapest price I could find anywhere. WELL worth $28, IMO.

I have been wading through 'less expensive' tools for a while now, and getting an absolutely pristine Vic 93mm model is like a breath of fresh air. Oh, look, everything WORKS, and it's sharp.

I looked for the obvious 'Pioneer Owners Club' thread and was shocked to not find it.  But, here it is, in all it's insanely well crafted glory. This is my second 93mm, my first being a silver Farmer.
