The solution to the box problem is quite simple, undo the wings and flat pack them, this means you will fit many more boxes in the big box, this will also create wasted space so it must be filled...the best way to utilize that space is to put more flat boxes in, the best way to acquire more boxes is to buy more saks, the boxes will eventually fill this free space and the whole operation will be many times more efficient, efficiency is a good thing that many people take years to perfect and the more efficient you are, the more boxes you can afford

Foresters rock! The perfect 111mm SAK I'd say!
Rucksack a close second!
Sentinel... hm. I don't think you'll be using that one much!

You realise if you pack boxes too densely you run the risk of creating a black hole, which would immediately absorb the entire planet as well as your entire SAK collection? I don't know if I could live with myself, having caused the end of the world and all that...

Hi Mactire, as well as offering some great custom alox (though not much at the moment, I see) the Schweizermesser shop in Germany sells all sorts of bits and bobs, including scales.
They have these orange ones, the 111mm camo, and the Desert tan for 6,90 which seems jolly reasonable. If you need help getting some I can add some to my next order (can't say when that will be) and send them on to you.
https://www.schweizermesser-shop.de/schweizer-taschenmesser/victorinox-ersatzteile/

Thanks! his is a very useful link!

Unfortunately, now that I've filled my shopping cart to the brim I realize that the orange scales I wanted for my Sentinel have an opening for a corkscrew... which the Sentinel does not have.
And a OH model with just a blade and corkscrew does not exist  :-[ Perhaps I need to make a custom  ::)
EDIT: Oh, but it does! The Alpineer One Hand.

Just got a Midshipman back from the spa. I'm a bit confused by what they did but I must say I quite like the result.

They:
reshaped and polished the blade although it's a bit dull now.
Shortened the can opener (which had a twisted tip), reshaped it a bit and sharpened it.
Changed the saw (which had a broken off tip) with the new type (they're out of old saws).
Changed the marlinspike (which had been broken in half and reshaped).
Kept the original cap-lifter and scales.

I would've been OK with new scales (especially since I always ask for old parts back) but I must say it looks great like this. I love the fact that it kept its Elinox blade too.

More to come next week :D

I just grabbed this little Wenger Evo63 new in the blister pack.  Basically Wenger’s version of the Waiter.  I’m digging the locking combination tool!

Received and purchased quite a few knives the other day...

Palisander Accountant

Mother of Pearl Accountant

3 Classics: 1 Edelweiss, 1 Sagittarius and 1 Virgin

Alox Cadet

108mm Solo/Adventurer

108mm Trooper/Safari Trooper

OC Red Pioneer Pruner

Old unknown Wenger (if I believe the tang stamp...)

Old Wenger Baker's knife

Old Wenger Viking, sadly has a broken blade, I'll try to see if Vic can do anything about it, otherwise might become mod fodder(?)

(there's actually 11 more today but I'll wait for the sun to be back to take some pics :D )

Thanks! I try to get stuff that completes what I have... I'm a bit sick of having triples or quadruples in poor condition. These accountants are just awesome and I didn't have a Wenger Baker's, nor any 108mm.
