I couldn't pass up on this one.

It's not in the pristine condition as I thought it would be, but considering how most Amefa's look it's very nice.
It came with the leather case, it has a number written in it, possibly a soldiers number. But I can't find any info on the cases that were in service in 1984.
I think I'm going to put the nicest one on display and make this one a user.
There is something special about a birth year sak. Sometimes I would have liked it to be a Victorinox, but it's also kind a sweet that my birth year SAK is actually made in Holland.

While I really love my Tinker Small 84mm, this new to me Super Tinker/Salesman 84mm is now gonna dominate pocket time.

File or can-key on the Phillips?  Very nice.....

This custom arrived:  I was worried about the Spydie blade, but it snaps back just like the rest of the tools.  :tu:

I snagged a Victorinox Swisschamp with Plus scales on eBay for $25. The weird part is it has "Cozzio Winterthur" etched onto the blade. Everything has good snap and is in good shape, but the scissors are really tight. Cleaned all the goop off the scissors and lubricated the pivot liberally, but they're still very, very tight.

Now I need to decide what color it's going to be. Wood scales are an option, but they're tool-less... hrm, maybe green. I have blue and white already, and only Wenger SAKs are allowed to be red in my collection. :)

A one-hand serrated Sentinel. It was on sale at my local knife/cutlery speSmurfpillst, for the equivalent of 21 bucks so I just couldn't say no. :) I love it already, so slim and feels so efficient. Up until now a Hercules was my only 111 mm Vic, and despite the same profile, they're night and day in the hand. (But I still love the Herc as well, it's just a vastly different feel.)

I think it might be a HoneyBee blade, here it is next to my Bug and as you can see it's bigger than the Bug blade.

Thank you Aloha!  My worry is that Victorinox will start making MiniChamps with all the cool limited edition scales and they would be hard to resist.

UPDate:  I bought the Spydie modded knife from a guy on eBay who bought from the original modder.  Apparently the guy I bought it from had to do a little work on it to make it as nice as it is.  He didn't get too specific, but I am pleased with this mod, but that doesn't mean it comes that way.  I didn't want to mislead anyone.  But with a little work, they are nice.  I do like this one.

Yup, the Grasshopper is slightly bigger than my Midnite Manager. I think that's a HoneyBee awlright.

It's a lovely SAK indeed. And I can imagine that it feels very slim after using only a Hercules  :D
The serrated is great for cutting hard bread buns

Recently I saw a few likewise modded SAKs and they had blades from Sanrenmu, not Spyderco...

They might have to break the scales to service it and redo them afterwards...

At least that's what they told me...
