A couple of 84mm Salesmen that I bought for $19.95.......one older, one later.  Both had bends at the tip of the main blade, the later one a sharp bend that I figured would break when I tried to straighten it (and it did) and the earlier one a gentle bend that I rolled out without a break.  Re-profiled the broken tip and kind of like it in use.  Both of these were Hoffritz retailed.  Not too bad for less than $20 I think........

I have to ask...what do you mean by rolled out??? I have a SAK that has a slight bend and with my OCD sure would like to straighten it out. Thanks

Basically I use a rolling pin and a hardwood base with a small piece of wood to raise up the tang of the blade.  The outside curve of the bend is up against the rolling pin.  Roll the pin up onto the blade applying pressure.  You can vary the thickness of the small piece of wood for more “reverse bend”.  Just kind of work the rolling pin back and forth, it does take a bit of pressure on the rolling pin.

No guarantees, but I have been much more sucessful with this than other methods.  Sharp bends have probably already micro-fractured the metal so not likely sucessful there.  Have fun....

Bought this customized SAK for when I travel lite.  I figured I could put my driver's license, insurance card and a $20 under that clip.

Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

It will take more than a $20 bribe to get you out of a ticket.....

Very nice.....never would have thought of that as a money clip, pocket clip was the only thing that came to mind.....good use.   :tu:

Thanks for the explanation and I will give it a try later tonight...thankfully there are no sharp bends.

Thank you!  I did have his mod changed a little.  I asked that he take off the small Victorinox blade and add the cut and pick tool.  I like it for clamshell, hard plastic package opening.
Here's his before picture with that small blade there.

An SOS single pouch kit with a transition Swiss Champ.

This Champ has the older 8x gray plastic magnifier but with the newer, wider pliers.

New and unused but without a box.

A 108mm GAK. It arrived today and will get some TLC over the weekend. I´ll make pics afterwards.

Thanks to Codrin for this one. At first I thought there were some rust spots on the knife, but they turned out to be just dirt. After brushing with hot water and some mild detergent, all that was needed was a bit of time on the DC4 to restore the blade and awl to like new condition. There are scratches on the saw caused by sliding the cover on and off, but nothing too serious. I understand why the cover is there, but I removed it. Also because it seems to be a non stainless part. The teeth of the saw are hellishly sharp and aggressive, I don´t think the saw has ever been used. One minor issue: three ends of the scales (i.e. all except the corkscrew end) look like they´ve been used for bottle opening.

Here´s a pic with my two Safari Solo.

PS AFAIK the 108mm are the only SAKs with lanyard holes.  8)

It looks like it will definitely cut a lot of wood there. Nice looking knife there and glad to hear it cleaned up easy!
