I also had a lucky day

The black one is rather nice, it's stamped CK and Stainless, I'm thinking German,

Hi Tony, I'd say late 1950s to early 1960s because of the +PAT stamp on the can opener.
That worn alox looks so good.

Will be post '61 because of shape of awl, the early alox 57-61 will has the scale contoured for the awl. The + Pat will place it pre 71ish so 61-71 is my best guess.  :salute:

Wenger Matterhorn Plus, used but in very good condition...

...except for button compass in orienteering tool that somehow got very cloudy, almost completely opaque. Any ideas how to fix it? It looks like this cloudiness is from within the shell...

I have a 40 Elsener too!
No P mark added though.
Only somewhat sad part is that the scales went outwards a bit. Other than that, it's in great condition.

Yours looks to be even better!

The magnifying glass on my champ was cloudy when I bought it (its definitely plastic, not glass even though sakwiki says they are all glass) I used micromesh to polish the cloudiness out of it. If you don’t have micromesh try some metal polish like solvol autosol or brasso.

The finest grade of micromesh I have is 12000 but that is only necessary for superfine polishing. The 6000 is as far as I go when I’m repolishing cloudy plastic headlights.

Edit: just reread your post. If it is cloudy on the inside can you push the compass part out from the ruler and take it apart?
