I'm not sure about the age of this one, because the clip-point disappeared after '73 and the 4 turn corkscrew wasn't introduced until '83.
So it's has either a very early 4 turn corkscrew or a very late clip-point blade.
I thought for a moment that the 84mm maybe didn't get a 5 turn corkscrew. However, on my Small Climber I have a 5 turn screwdriver so I'm still puzzled.
Can’t help on dating it, but it is a nice find for sure!  :like: :tu:

I don't know about the corkscrews on the 84mm knives, but could I see better pics of the awl and tip?  I think I see machining for a 70º tip and I have that as ~ '77 to ~'80 or so on the 91mm knives.  I've been under the impression that clip points were used longer on the 84mm and certainly in general for anything that wasn't mainline production. If the awl has a 60º tip and the outer edge rounding...I'd put it at c. '73.

Great one Kamakiri  :tu:
The Original Traveler was my first SAK.
Here's mine...

Thanks MTMatt

Yours is nice and clean!  If I had to guess, I'd say it's c.'83 production +/- a year?  I'm thinking closer to just the '83-'84 range.  Am I even close?

It should be 83, yes.  :salute:
Missed your post last night...

:tu: Thanks for the reply MTMatt! I gotta test my awl-based timeline info when I run into knives of known purchase date!

I'll try to make some photo's asap. Got a birthday party tonight, so might not get around it today.

Thank you GF and Wspeed.  I've been looking to add a Blaze Wenger to my collection as I didn't have any, and when I saw the inscription, I knew it was meant to be.
