My latest is this Accountant. I've always wanted a SAK with the big LNF (spanning two layers). It has a Victoria tang stamp and exposed rivets, very good condition. It looks like it has been carried but not really used. The scissors spring has been replaced; it's not period correct.

Well I got a little Wenger Wednesday night that I ordered from an Australian seller on the bay a few weeks ago. It's one of Wenger's left-handed models...as a lefty I've always been curious as to how they felt to use. It's the Evolution 14, same tool set as the old Traveler I carried forever. I love having it, but I doubt it will be carried all that much, if any -- I just had to have one, I almost bought a southpaw Traveler maybe 15 years ago, didn't go through with it (and I'm not sure why, apart from thinking that I never had trouble using the "right handed" knives I had). This is actually my first knife with Evolution scales (my second, an EvoGrip, arrived today, it'll be in the mailbox when I get home this evening). Feels pretty nice to hold, actually, and although thicker than a regular Wenger I think I like it.

As for how the left handed tools perform -- scissors are a definite win, I think that's the one area where a left-handed person could really benefit. Can opener maybe, but I am so used to Wenger and Vic openers that I could get a can open in a trice with a standard knife. Also, I have no cans in the house that aren't pop-tops, apart from a couple of cans of peas...I'll try this out when we cook those.

Now that my curiosity is sated, I probably don't need another left-handed Wenger. Well, unless I see a Matterhorn pop up somewhere...reversed tools are a neat idea but I bet in practice I'd end up having to think twice every time I used, say, the corkscrew. I'm too adapted the things as they are.

Thanks Wspeed, Rapidray, Vicman...it is a really well done idea. They ran with it and reversed everything, but I think they may have gone too far into the niche. Certainly I don’t think they were a huge success, but I had always been curious. Left-handed scissors are easier to use though, for sure.

That's a lovely color. They should make 91mm scales like that!
