Looks like I'll be trying to scheme a way to get some more Alox Bantams. Thanks for confirming that!

Camper 1992 - 2005 Vssr, no hook, fluted corkscrew

This one is pretty special as it belonged to my best mate’s dad who passed away two weeks ago at the grand old age of 91.

I was very close to Graham and had known him for 40 years. He’d been a farmer but became an academic teaching agriculture and won the honour of the Order of Australia for services to education, a great man.

The family came across the Camper amongst his possessions and have very kindly given it to me as they thought that’s what he’d have wanted

I think it must’ve been a gift from a grain company and looks unused

That's a wonderful gift of them Echo.  I have a Camper of around that same vintage, and they're wonderful knives.  Yours is beautiful!

Looks like I'll be trying to scheme a way to get some more Alox Bantams. Thanks for confirming that!

It looks like great minds think alike… just ordered a red alox bantam last night from KC before they ended their free shipping promo so $26 bucks total not bad.

I’ve been wanting to get a bantam for quite a while now especially after hearing you praise them so much Dan lol

Got these three 84mm SAKs over the last few days. From left to right, an early 80s Golfer, late 70s Salesman, and a Waiter. That last one wasn't a planned purchase but I couldn't resist a 5 buck flea market find. The Salesman a nickel-silver cross and aluminum tipped tweezers. Looks like it might still have the factory edge on the main blade. There aren't a lot of 84s with scissors coming up for sale anymore, which made the buying decision easy for the Golfer and Salesman. Both were reasonably priced and in better condition than I expected.

Stay tuned... I have another interesting 84mm coming soon.

Big haul from the US! Many, many thanks to AzteCypher for his super kind assistance with the delivery!  :hatsoff:

There are two highlighs:
The Gold Deluxe Classic - excellent addition to my 58mm collection. The scales are scratched but I can't really complain for $14,50 I paid for it.

1242k aka Bantam II (?) - I like everything about this knife - the Elinox / Schweizer wappen shield - I assume nickel silver (?), the clip point small blade, the thicker spine vs. current models...

and with the rest I am very happy too:
58mm Princess with thin celidor scales and and the thin hot stamped shield

Waiter with somewhat unusual white nylon scales

Older Tourist with grooved corkscrew and no eye awl. I had a new green scales lying around so I put them on. When I removed the old scales I realized that they are the older solid type and upon closer inspection it seems the contours of the shield is a bit wider vs current version. Is it nickel silver as well? How to tell the difference? Would anyone know?

Earlier this week I picked up 2 of the 2025 Alox Pioneer X LE knives. One to use as an EDC and one to keep in the box. Today I picked up a 2023 Pioneer X Limited Edition also. I’m going to try and pick up all the Pioneer X Annual Limited Edition knives to start with. The first year or the Pioneer X was the 2021 orange colour and I think that one’s pretty popular so it might take a while to get it.

+1

Well done, thanks for sharing!

I particularly like the Bantam II. Wish Victorinox had more sAKs with the small clip blade.

@29roadie: Congratulations! Your photo makes the 2025 look like sort of a burnt orange hue; is my perception accurate, or was that a trick of the camera and/or lighting? Burnt orange is sort of a favorite hue of mine, so I may be scheming a way to get one.

Yes, I think it almost is. It might be slightly brighter in my photo due to the light hitting the facets of the scales.  It’s more orange than I thought it would be.

I don’t have a red Alox but sitting next to one you’d probably call this burnt orange. Maybe someone who has both could take a picture like that. Actually this between the orange 2021 Alox knife and a red Alox knife would be ideal.

I definitely think it’s a much better colour in person. I was on the fence about it before I saw it. It would actually be a colour I would choose where I probably wouldn’t have said that before seeing it.
