FoBe you have the gift to locate lovely items.

I found this at a consignment , was surprised when I turned over and saw the old cross. It was filthy and blade did not wish to show itself.

Now to learn about it in SAKWiki.

RED Alox Solo, I only had seen Silver Solos prior to yesterday.

Nice find, LoopCutter! :like: :2tu:

Thanks Vicman.

All I found was that early solos were RED, but nothing much more than that.

If anyone has insight willing to share it save these old eyes some squinting searching.

I could tell from lint and such this SOLO was pocket carried. Some scuffs on the blade from rubbing the front liner, yet blade does appeared sharpened, maybe only stropped.

The RED is pretty, the photo showes RED, yet with my eyes it has an orange hue.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

While on a holiday tour around Sydney, Australia I've been keeping an eye out for things of interest.  I've found less than expected / hoped for, but this well-worn leather pouch caught my eye near Jervis Bay.  Upon opening it had a similarly well-worn Huntsman.  Some indentation to the scales from the case rivets makes it look like they've been together for some time.  And the blades are worn from sharpening.  But I liked the look of the aluminium head tweezers, which I think places it around mid-70s.

Nice old Huntsman.  Someone must have used the awl/reamer quite a bit.  You rarely see the awl sharpened that much.  I like the laced together sheath.  Best wishes.  G

I have been really lucky lately. I got this for the Swedish equivalent of 25 USD. An early 90ies Huntsman with buffalo horn scales. In almost unused condition. Private seller on local auction site.

Got it home, a little cleaning and oil - and it is ready to go. Huntsman is not one of my favourite Victorinox as the saw is low on my user scale. But the price in relation to the relative rareness of the buffalo horn scales got me going.

SAKWiki has this Huntsman as 1.3713.61: Buffalo horn scales

A somewhat strange but nice surprise is the aluminum head on the tweezer.

Two CLIMBERS

ONE IS BLACK the other is TRANSLUCENT BLUE

implements like new, scales have pocket scratches but some now concealed after applying some scratch sealer.

Found a case of new old stock Wengers at a small mom and pop store. So over the next few pay periods I will clear them out.

I just made myself my latest Vic. I wasn't too eager to spend thousands for Limited Edition so I made one myself.

Key ring was removed, done very nicely if actually done by owner.

PS: AWL Refuses to be removed from handle if opposite implement deployed.

:iagree: It's a bit of a shame Wenger went to printed crosses. The red foil background is very spiffy!

SILVER TECH SPARTAN

“make a offer”, low low offer for a dirty one! Accepted! :woohoo:

Arrived Thursday, cleaned up, only one ding on the scales. A USER for sure.

I bet the awl on the knife was used to help make the sheath.
