Interesting! What does the tang stamp say? The Watch case opener looks more like the Wenger style opener, Watchmaker 85, with more belly.
Ya I thought it was a Wenger when I first saw the blade. Tang is standard VSSR/OS+<cb>.

I'm assuming/hoping the Stoner reference is not something akin to Cheech and Chong?!

In which case, what's is about? :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoner_63  A Vietnam War era assault rifle/light machine gun that was used in limited numbers by US special forces, especially Navy SEALs.  That's an interesting inlay, any idea when the knife dates from?  I'd assume mid to late '60's......

While I have a number of SAKs with firearms/ordnance makers names on them, only a few have the actual weapons. One is a Spartan with Swiss STGW 90 assault rifle, possibly from some Swiss shooting club. The other is a Companion with a Cadillac-Gage Commando Armored Car, widely used in Viet Nam for base security and convoy escort.

I'm also looking for a Weekender to create a double blade knife with straight and a serrated edge.
There's one on EDCSource.

Eugene Stoner (died 1997) was the second greatest American firearms designer (after John Browning, of course).

Thanks!  I'm sure everyone is sick of hearing it by now, since I've already posted this in a couple other threads in the Mod Squad forum, but I did goof when putting it together...

I used the newer, narrower blade with the older and wider backspring, so there's a little bit of side-play in the blade.  I'll eventually take it apart and swap out the blade, and also the scissors to the older style with the screw instead of the rivet.  And I'm going to get some plus scales for it then too.  Once I get that done, it'll be as close to an original Yeoman as I can make it.

Got this beauty today a Gourmet with exposed rivets and small clip point blade

Very nice! What's the scale material on those?

I would say cellidor but it feels a lot more durable and harder than what they currently use.

Just picked up a serrated Recruit for 99 cents.

It's a little beat up, but I really only wanted it for the blade.

This Outrider was a gift from Swiss Army Lt. General to the Swiss soldiers on duty abroad (Swisscoy in Kosovo) in 2002.
