My latest SAKS. Bought the farmer as I work in a very sheepie environment ( town hall) and therefore anything SAK is fine but Leatherman = tactical.  Wenger SI, good price at Go Outdoors. However you do run the chance of bumping into other MTO members ( don't you Tosh). Orange rambler my Christmas pressie to me. The spartan was a second hand shop find £5.

My latest SAK is one I've actually had for awhile now, it's just better!

This is my 97 Soldier.

Here it is, the way it should have come from the factory IMHO.

A huge thanks to Syph007 for adding the scissors to this for me!   If anyone has been wondering how the quality is affected by getting a mod done, let me assure you have absolutely nothing to worry about!  This is at or above factory quality.  :salute:

I'm calling this my SOD Soldier (scissors on demand)  :D

Couple Wengers cane today...good thing I got them before prices inflate...all used for $3 to $13 except Professional series which there was a lot of competition for.

On the bottom green one, is that a form of liner or blade lock?  ???  Never seen that before your post.

yes...the famous locking SAKS from Wenger...this is an Eddie Bauer from Tim's shop.  I'm undecided if I prefer the lock, believe it or not.

Yep that's wengers lock blade release.  It pushes down on the backspring to release the blade.

My 557 has that type as well.

Does that liner lock make it more difficult to mod?

Hmm, is there a way that the lock mechanism could be mod to a alox 93? JR

The mechanism, sure.  But the key is that the blade fits into lock notches in the backspring.  So to work on a 93 I would need to notch a custom spring, and notch the blade itself as well to lock open, then that little mechanism just pushes the spring open to release.  So... yes I would have to say its possible, but not easy.  :D

Damn you for the idea, as it just went on my have to try sometime list.   :tu:

Another nugget of Colorado gold - diamond-checkered gold Ambassador.

And three Spartans from sunny Argentina (by way of snowy Canada).

Man what a score... do you have any info on the ivory colored plastic or wooden tool in there?  It looks familar, but I can't place it.

I saw those Gold Ambassadors with the Vic shield rather than the federal sheild, had you seen that one used before the recent stock sell-off on ebay?

Those Argentina scenes look really nice.

It is wood. I was hoping someone here would know more. I never saw any wood items in a Minathor before.

The tools in the Miathor are made by Bergeon, a major Swiss maker of watch tools. Did a quick search and came up blank. They may be Bergeon; alternately the previous owner may have picked them up someplace else.

The one picture I have of the gold Ambassador shows the federal shield, so definitely odd.

The Argentine knives are part of a set of about 20. Getting them turned out to be like pulling teeth and pricey. Argentine postal regulations along with their monetary policy and import/export regulations combined for a real mess. A Canadian dealer I know had a friend going down there who managed to pick up a handful with difficulty. Most of the series is sold out in Argentina, and unlikely to be reordered.
