I went to the Victorinox Outlet Store (again :) ) this evening:

(Image removed from quote.)

I didn't buy anything! Still the same cool stuff they had a couple of months ago (Classic Zodiac series, all of the 58mm RocKnives, several DeLuxe SAKs (including one with Vic shield!), Mother of Pearl Ambassador and Spartan, Horn scaled Spartans and a number of stainless steel 74mm models).

Had a little chat with the same guy that sharpened my CyberTool blade on his sharpmaker last time I was there. Don't think he recognized me though.

Anywayssss..... when I got home this little fellow was waiting for me, a near-mint red alox Executive  8)

(Image removed from quote.)

That is so cool, it looks like the church of Victorinox!  I cant even find stores around here that stock Vics, let alone a whole store of Vic goodness!

I wouldn't even be allowed to take my wallet with me if I were to go there.  If I did, my wife would probably  :twak: me when I got home.

It's more like a Vic luggage store that also has 50 or so SAKs. It's in Roermond by the way, address details are on the Victorinox website.
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

By the way I can go back there if anyone is interested in a RocKnife or a DeLuxe. Prices were not bad but I can't remember any details, except that the 58mm granite ones were EUR 36.80.

A birthday present from a friend who obviously has the same great taste in things as I do!  :D

This is my first colored Alox, and it is sweet!  Looks great with a Devils lanyard too.  :tu:

My first Alox was a red Cadet too.  Turned out to be the top of a very slippery slope indeed.

  "church of Victorinox" >:D

Now, speaking of brick and mortar Canadian stores in Ontario that carry SAKs:

Canadian Tire and Mark's Warehouse: nothing special and overpriced, especially the later.

MEC: a few interesting SAKs at reasonable prices - I got several new Wengers from there, Ranger, EvoWood, Orange Blaze, etc.

Wallmart  ::) Nothing special, never got a SAK from there. Cheap Vic "Economy" nylons there mostly.

Lee Valley: got my first 2008 Soldier from there, best price too at the time. Too bad this is the only SAK that they carry.

May be a few others.

Kind of lame choices compared with those Victorinox "churches" others got

Just rub it in. Still did not get my ship notice for mine. And you ordered multiple ones too, I see 3 black SAKs there ;)

Enjoy!

When I was younger all the malls had 'house of knives' and they always had the whole Vic line. But those stores are long gone, and now around here MEC is about the best source, but none in my city.  So for local in person Vic shopping, I have zero options except walmart and Canadian tire which has nothing.  Bless the internet and mail services!

Lucky me I am near both Lee Valley (walking distance) and MEC stores here in my city. Although from MEC sometimes I am lazy and just order from their web store.

Also local Canadian Tires and as mentioned their fellow Mark's Warehouse all carry Vics, but as I said, bad prices. Also all local Walmart and what used to be Zeller stores, they all have some Vics on display.

There are (were) a few more or less smaller shops in malls here still active, not sure how many were left. Their prices were always Canadian MSRP so quite high. For example got in '98 a MiniChamp for ~ $50 and a cellidor SwissChamp back then was ~ $100.

Never saw alox carried in any of these stores however. Maybe it was in the past but I never saw any. Got my first alox Soldier waking into a Fry's store in US (when I was not "collecting", neither having yet the alox bug).

A very nice silver Pioneer with USA ....

More info and pictures swissknives.info
I'm not crazy about that new grey outlined shield Vic has used on a few models, but I think this is the first time it appears on a 93mm Alox model correct?  I'm not crazy about the blade etching either, and this is the 3rd USA knife in the last couple years.

BUT!!!  The US Flag (two-color logo) on the bottom is really neat!

A pre 1986 Vix popular. It was in one of the second hand shops I like to go to.  This shop however tends to over price things.  Hopefully not this time.  It cost me £5.

Know where you both are coming from. Used to have a number of good sources back in Virginia. Here in Colorado there's a small assortment of common items in chain discount and sporting goods stores. The only knife shop in Denver is a hole-in-the-wall dump that mainly carries Chinese junk. Did pick up some interesting items at the Wenger store in Boulder before they closed, but other than that I haven't bought a knife locally since I moved back here two years ago. Thank goodness for the internet.
