I like the big Wenger Rangers except for the folding pliers. I have one with a combo edge but with the OH and plain edge I might have to get one like this too!   :tu: :tu:

They are really nice, im struggling not to buy more  :D I find the pliers very handy for electrical work and all tasks that require bending cutting wire, i use the file saw for cutting thick wire which does really well. Since the pliers have the edges that "meet" instead of overlap that is really usefull for cutting zip ties which i use a lot.

Nice RangerGrip with the blade inscription!
A word of caution, however.
The pliers level should fold down all the way to the liners.
I just experienced the same problem with a RangerGrip, and I had it replaced.
Here is a picture I sent to show the problem: on the model on the left the pliers fold down correctly.
On the right, you can see the don't close all the way down.

Thanks for the tip, i have checked mine and yes they dont go all the way down to the liner, never payed attention because i kind of like it that way, gives a nice "end" to the handle.

As far as i cant tell it doesnt affect the function of the pliers, seems to be more to do with the bending angle of the level since its a bended one piece and perhaps the bend doesnt come up always the same.  :tu:

In the example I had the pliers worked just fine, so no problems there.
What I did notice is that it was more difficult to put the knife inside and out of the sheath.

I don't often buy SAK's but this copper Alox Cadet caught my eye in a second hand store.  It is in very good condition.  Non of the color has rubbed off of the alox.  The only wear I can see is a couple very fine scratches in the main blade and the split ring is missing.   I will probably play around with it for a few days, then it will be available for trade.

Is the book worth getting?  I think in conversion, it was close to $30 USD; pricey for not knowing the quality and what's in it. :/

The openers work as well as normal.  The trick is to shorten the pivot on the phillips driver though since its got dual springs it would break your thumb to try to open it if it was the normal length.  :tu:  I shave off about 2mm from what a standard one would be.

Fresh from the mail this morning. NIB Swisschamp XLT.  It appears to be an older one because of the mag glass and bit holder but I might be wrong.
