My latest is the Wenger EvoGrip16 :mail:

My initial impression is that I love it :D  I love the red/black scales (although they are a bit thicker than I would have liked, which makes the whole SAK thicker than I would think it needs to be), and it has a great pocketable size (despite the just mentioned scale thickness).

Since the wenger scales "contain" the outer liner within them, the relative comparisons between a Wenger and a Vic show thet the scales of the Wenger, compared to the thickness of the Vic scales plus the outer liner...........there's hardly any difference between them. Just a little more thickness to the Wenger scales where the islands are between the long and short portions, but really, very little difference in general.
Granted, the Wenger scales look thicker, there is more plastic to them, but the overall knife thickness is very similar.

You are correct sir, thanks for pointing that out :salute:  I hadn't considered that, even though I did notice the outer liners are contained within the scales.  That does actually make a difference now that I think about it.

Yeah, the Evo scales do feel thicker though the knife really isn't.  As to the springs on Wengers feeling less snappy and weak, that's true to a point.  Compared to a 91mm Vic the 85mm Wengers do feel a bit soft.  However, compared to an 84mm Victorinox they don't feel and softer, right about the same.  Then again, it could be that all my 84's have weak springs.... Anyone else notice this?

@Monrogue- I'll get that pic of the nail file mod up tomorrow (later today?  )  Real life unfortunately poked its head up this evening.......

I myself have no 84mm Vics to compare springs.  No problem with the pic, I'll check it out later today ;)

I just bought a deluxe tinker for my off duty days. I like having the pliers of my wave but it's not practical in short pockets... :climber:

I would suppose it would, but you could always file it down to a tip again then buff it, no  JR

Hmmm...still not sure   I kind of want to do it, but I don't really need it for an inline phillips when I carry MTs that have phillips.  I'm thinking of the times when this is the only item I'm carrying (which would only be during the evening after work in the warmer months) and happen to need a phillips and the T-handle one won't fit the task.  Honestly, that would only happen occasionally, and it's not like I can't go grab a MT, but then again, that defeats the purpose of the convenience of carrying something so that you don't have to go track down a specific tool.  So I don't know, this is just my analytical and indecisive nature kicking in :ahhh

I would suppose it would, but you could always file it down to a tip again then buff it, no  JR

That is true JR.  I could always fix it if I didn't like it.

Just in, a ruby Champion Neuschwanstein, to compliment my white Spartan Neuschwanstein. The Spartan came from the castle gift shop; don't know where the Champion (which has a different photo) came from.
Also the first time I've seen tourist scales on that big a knife.

I've been calling the Victorinox knives with pictures on the handles 'tourist' knives. However that's probably causing confusion with the standard Tourist model. In the future I'll refer to them as 'scenic' knives. Any comments or suggestions?
