Recently won a Victorinox Swiss Army sign on ebay. The ones I'd recalled seeing in shops were about 8" x 8". The one that showed up is 15" x 16". HUGE!

Between my collection and my Dad's old collections of aviation stuff, plus other assorted junk, there's no room in the man cave. The sign went into the bedroom on top of the book case full of my 'war toys' (Dinkey, Britains, etc.). A lot of stuff needs to be gotten rid of, but it seems to come in faster than it goes out. :D

Just picked up a Wenger Forester with unusual camouflage handles. Have the same handles on a Tool Chest Plus I bought some years back, so not unique. However I have no idea what market they were made for.

Just got my first Tinker in the mail as part of a small lot.

I was messing about with it when I noticed the Phillips had a split in it. Google tells me that it's a can key.

The cellidor scales are void of tools, and the bottle opener/large flat head does not have a half stop. It feels like the scales are more solid than modern scales?

I really dig the feel of this one - does anyone know about what year it comes from and if it is an 'eco' model or not?

Sounds like an eco and congratulations.

Googled a bit more and it sounds like mid to late 80's perhaps.

Thought it was probably an eco, but I hadn't an encountered an older one before they started using (?) nylon scales.

If its 91mm: pre 86 for sure (half stop). If the phillips is round then probably a 82-85 model. If the Phillips is squared off then need more pictures to date better, but its a 73-83 model. Things like tang stamps and scale inlay can help date better within that range.

If its 84mm: pre 90 for sure (half stop on 84mm doesn't appear until 2011 or so). Square Phillips is the same date range as 91mm. Round Phillips would be 83-90. Again, tang stamp pics help narrow more.

All scales prior to 2001 or so are going to feel more solid. As for it being an Eco model - it's possible, but I can't think of any Eco models with Phillips off the top of my head until they went to the nylon scales in the 90s.

I recently acquired this NIB Victorinox Camper advertising knife. An hour or so with some fine wet n dry
and polishing compound had the logo removed and the scales restored to pristine condition. This model has no key ring and the colour is a very dark blue, much darker than the standard Vic blue which is shown for comparison.

Sounds just like my old and much missed Tinker. It was my first SAK and I got it in '85
