Received a camo scaled Vic OH Trekker today that was a free gift from one of the companies from which I order certain supplies here at work.  It's branded with their company name, which I didn't know about, but that's fine.  It's not really something I would carry normally anyway, so I may just leave it here at work.  It would make a great camping knife though I think, but I don't do much of that.  I'll post pics later as I can't from here.

Nice! My order still hasn't been placed yet, so I might get mine someday next week.

That kind of sucks about having their name on it though. Oh we'll, the price was right.

Two mods arrived today, from Hanksolon, it was a bit of a wait, but boy they look good! Vagabond and Minichamp Alox Black! (Thanks Hanksolon!)
Pic with the Classic shows I had the shields reversed, so they match Cadet and Pioneer Shield direction. The Classic now looks like the shield is wrong from the factory.

All 3 with all tools open in a pile of Alox

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the branding on it, but it's not that big a deal I guess.  If it was one that I really planned on carrying, I might have more of an issue with it, but I don't think I'll be carrying it.  The bottle opener on it is a beast though, and it locks.  The saw is long too.  I'm also not a fan of the OHO blade lock being a lefty.  Oh well.  Like I said, I won't be carrying it, and will probably just leave it here at work to play with occasionally.  And as you said, the price was right ;)

those are great knives from what ive read and I would not mind the logo especially for the price  ;)
cant wait to hear your impressions and see pictures.

I got the scissors on my Spirit cleaned up and freed of gunk, though im not all that thrilled with them.  I cut some paper and come thin cardboard and they just don't have the same authority as do my explorer when cutting. they will work but id grab my explorer scissors first.  this takes NOTHING away from this great tool.  still more impressions as the days with her go on.

Oh yes, despite my minor issues with it that I've mentioned, it's definitely a good quality knife with some nice features.  As I said, it would be a great camping companion, with that long saw and OHO blade.  The company name isn't any major eyesore, no more than the camo scales themselves are (imho), so that's not a big deal.  It also has the combo blade, similar to the butterblade of the Spirit.  I think for this I would prefer just a PE blade, but that's me.  It's just not the type of item I would EDC.  It doesn't fit in with what I like to carry (MT/SAK combo).  I'd have to replace one of those two items with it as it's too big to add as a third item for me.  If I really wanted to give it a try, I'd probably have to replace my SAK with it as I prefer to have a plier based MT on me at work.  I'd lose a lot of functionality without one of my SAKs though, so I don't like that idea.  It's not a bad knife/tool, but I just don't see a place for it

I agree about the Spirit's scissors.  They're ok, but not as good as SAK scissors.  There's something off about them when trying to cut paper or anything other than simply snipping tags and whatnot.  Like you said though, it takes nothing away from how great the Spirit really is.

I don't care for the hideous serrated blades on the OHO SAKs either. It's a pain to sharpen them and they don't cut the way I want them to...  :td:

Serrations on my 2008 Soldier frighten me. I don't want to even think what would happen should the knife slip 'cause they weren't good for the job. I find them task-specific and I keep that knife only for those rare times it will be useful. Having said that, I'm pleasantly surprised by the butter blade on the Spirit. Again, it's task-specific but very swift too!

@microbe.  :ahhh I'm being tempted here.  :ahhh 'Been considering a rambler for some time now, preferably alox.  Enjoy. :ahhh  :D

I have nothing against an all serrated blade, I just cant stand a combo one.  I think alot of the times a serrated blade would be more use for me than a wood saw.  So a farmer with a serrated blade in place of saw wouldnt be too crazy to me.  Well if you need a serrated blade of course. :D

I don't mind the combo blade on the Spirit as I think of my MT knife more like a secondary knife to my SAK.  For the Vic OHT, I'd definitely prefer a PE blade so that I can sharpen it easily.  I will say it came dangerously sharp though, so it'll cut just fine.  The more I've fiddled with it, the more I think I like it, but it just doesn't offer much for the bulk and space required to carry it.  I'm thinking I could carry it in my back pocket in place of a MT, but I'd still want a MT for pliers, etc. as well as one of my SAKs for the variety of functions they offer.  I think one of my SAKs and my PST would both fit in the change pocket within my right front pocket, so I could carry the OHT in the back pocket.  Still, I don't see that being something I'd stick with for long.  Once the newness wears off, I'll likely not care about carrying it.  Anyway, here are the pics of it:

Could be...one never knows.  It more than likely will not see much use as I'd just leave it at work to fiddle with when I feel like it, so it should be in good condition.

Got the black Pioneer and standard Electrician, along with the final Cadet 5 Colors piece, orange! That was yesterday. Today, I'm off to the P.O. to pick up a package. I'm not sure which one this is...but I hope it's a Swiss Bianco bit!

Nice Burnside, any info on where to find another blue farmer?

I bought the blue Farmer from smartknives who is selling the red Farmer which is currently listed on the big auction site. I saw that they had sold a few red Farmers, so I asked if they had any blue ones and they did. I don't know if they have any left, but it's worth a try if you're looking.

I used the advanced search Sold Listings and I saw that they had recently sold a bunch of Farmers in both red and blue. Each sale was a buy-it-now with the prices rising each time. I don't think they will budge on the price. They might even raise the price after the next sale.

The red Farmer that they have listed right now has been up for about a week, and the one before that was only up for a day (although it was listed at a lower price).
