Thanks guys! I'm seriously thinking about picking up another Spirit RT to keep as back up just in case. It's my first Swisstool, and I am thoroughly impressed with it regardless of the beautiful RT finish.

I would also really like to get my hands on a BO Spirit S Dutch Army issue (I think I would actually prefer this model over the RT :o ).

Where did you get your RT?

I did a search for sold Spirit RT listings on ebay, and then I contacted the person who had most recently sold a few to see if they had any others. As luck would have it, he did.  :multi:

A few days after getting mine, I did a search on ebay and I noticed that brookstone currently listed 10 as available. They are listed at $125 shipped each. I posted a link to the site in the deals and auctions sub forum here at MT.O.

Thanks! It is because of all the great Spirit RT photos that I've seen here that I ended up tracking one down for myself.  :tu:

I just posted in your thread. Swiss Outpost has them still for a good price, $80 about, pluss shipping. If you're looking to get a backup, this would be a good way.  :multi:

They're also on Amazon.

Oh. Electrician Duo; main blade, electrician blade, pruner, and cap lifter. I missed out on it when Tim got them in, and had been frantically trying to find both versions (black/red shields). Luckily Tim had an extra black, and I found both on eBay, so I was able to snag the extra black for carry.

No worries. If you pick up a backup at that price, it'll even itself out.  :D  :tu:

An interesting Compact from Ebay featuring a wharncliffe chisel ground main blade.  Either I have something I cant find info on or someone was very good with their grinder.

I noticed there were 8 in stock last night. After you posted that you got one, there was seven. Woke up this morning, and there were only four left. Now there are only two left in stock.

Great price for the RT right now. I'm sure the last two won't last past the day. I'm glad you pointed this out to me, sticktodrum. brookstoneco has a lot of negative feedback on ebay, and their price is about $40 dollars more for the RT than the swiss outpost.  Good lookin out!  :tu:

Rick, I have seen a few guys do this to their SAKs on the woodcarving forums to make them better for carving.

Absolutely. I actually ended up buying two for myself...since I've been meaning to pick up a Spirit and figured I'd want the X model anyway. So, one in stock and one to rock as they say. :D

I recommend you get that backup RT now, because you're likely right about them not lasting beyond the day. I'm tempted to pick up another actually... It's such a gorgeous tool, and the color scheme is similar to my Charge AL, my favorite MT so far.
Last night I got that Electrician Duo in, but also two Harvesters from Amazon.De that I was stoked to find. Pictures if those forthcoming..as well as video.

I got my back-up ordered this morning (I also got hit hard with the sales tax).. It should be here tomorrow.  If I could, I would pick up another, but that's not possible at the moment (especially because I spent 40 more on my first one from a different source).

The Spirit RT is very impressive and definitely  -worthy. At first you might think it's too much of a finger print magnet, but then you realize that it's not that bad. If anything, it adds to the color change effect that seems to sometimes occur in varying light. It mostly looks like shiny black/black chrome in low to regular lighting.

For about the same price as the stainless spirit X, the Spirit RT is a great deal. There are still currently two left in stock at the swiss outpost, and brookstone on ebay is now down to 8 left in stock. I'm surprised there are still two left in stock at Swiss Outpost.

If I didnt already have the Swisstool, I would have snatched up one of those Spirit RT's. :)

Between the Swisstool, a Charge AL and two blue CS4's, I have more than enough MT's that I dont use. LOL

Me too. I have an original SwissTool, an original Leatherman, a Leatherman Squirt PS2, a Leather Wingman, and one other Leatherman to boot. I find myself only grabbing for a plier-based MT when I know I'm doing some heavy work. The other 95% of the time, a SAK is perfect.
