Today was a good day on the SAK front!  :D

Nice ones! You have a SwissFlame as well?

Yes - picked this up very recently - I think it is the campflame actually in light of the saw blade rather than scissors...? It is in really nice condition and, shockingly, the lighter still works!

I know it's a CampFlame, that's why I was wondering if you also had a SwissFlame :tu:
Cool that the lighter acutally works, that's usually not the case :)
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

Every day is a school day - and I have a lot to learn still about which SAK is which! To answer your question though - no this newly arrived campflame is the only lighter equipped SAK I own.....so far!

Pair of Olive Green Cadets. I do not usually collect Cadets but I could not pass the chance to get a taste of these older beauties at the low price they were sold for. The color suits them perfectly in my opinion.

A trio of Classics just in. A Techno Camo version I'd never seen before, and a couple of newly released sports knives.

The Techno Camo is used; never seen it before.

The sports are from SMKW.

shockingly, the lighter still works!

Must be a quality control issue. I'd send it back for a refund. These things are supposed to be dead the minute the leave the factory...

Love that Wenger Ranger wood... I wish they had something like the sentinel with in wood, cos then I'd buy it. I don't need yet another big knife with lots of tin openers!

You can swap scales (even hardwood) or get custom scales for a Sentinel.

Love that Wenger Ranger wood...

+1  :tu:

Then I'd suggest to hurry up and get one until they are gone ;) Luckily they are still available for sale around the original price.

Here is mine. I like it very much. Since then I got a few more Rangers in wood, including the super cool ones from the United Woods series and the SAC one.

Nice one!  I didn't think I cared for the Rat, but your pictures convinced me otherwise.  So While I'm waiting to find a Dragon one day I grabbed one of these.

I just got back home to open a brick ton of new and eBay sacks. one highlight was a blurry picture "new Soldier knife" that had a bail. I was expecting a late model 70, but ingact it was a n unused 91 Soldat. Wow, very very different than the 2008+ Soldats I have. thicker tools- the opener is semipolished with the wire deshearher and the awl thes cool as hell. This ain't to momma's 70!  And to top it off, the bail is nice and thick, not a bit of flop at all.

In addition a few models unopened (among many others)- tore up passenger, custom nylon yeoman, explorer, custom alox executive, 13 cadets orange and green. And many more.

Christmas came in January this year!
Lurking with a large collection of sharp knives!

US cheese SAK. See details at http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Victorinox+Hardwood+Cheese+Knife

Very nice!  I wonder why the US version has a cap lifter?     Do the Americans drink beer with their cheese instead of wine?   :drink:

Recently received this lovely Battle of St Jakob Passenger from 1987 via a fine, upstanding MTo member.  I've always wanted a Passenger but I don't plan on using this one, so I might have to mod one for myself from an Explorer...

Looking good, Spatha! I'm glad you like it.  :tu:

My latest SAKs from the past month or so...

NIB old cross red Sailor
NIB 2012 Limited blue with red shield Pioneer.
NIB 80's era Salesman
Orange Cadet with keyring
2 used old cross red Pioneers
NIB black Pioneer
Black Oxide BSA red Tinker (syph007)
Black Oxide red Spartan (syph007)

I plan to snap off some photos tomorrow.

Christmas came in January this year!

Coming home to a package full of SAKs like that is what it's all about! Feels like Christmas every time I get a SAK in the mail.

I much prefer the pre '92/'91 era Soldiers and Pioneers to the newer ones. Like you said, the tools feel more substantial. I really like how the openers on the older models have sharper edges, and how you can see the machine marks on the flat sides of them. Also the brass pins and liner ALOX seem to feel more smooth to me, but that might just be in my head. I'm really drawn to the 80's era SAKs for the most part, so that might have something to do with my fondness of the pre 90's soldiers as well.

My most recent additions are the Wenger Blackout 52 RangerGrip and a Wenger Patriot with the imprint.  Both are great looking knives.

:) It's basically the same knife that was first sold in Vic's London store in England (not Ontario :)):

0.8301.69L12 Victorinox AN: Special Edition Bubinga 3-layer version for Victorinox London store.
0.8301.69L12US2 Victorinox AN: used in US marketing for the Hardwood Cheese Knife, Bubinga "Special Edition"; box erroneously numbered 0.8301.69112US2, mistaking the L for 1.

Will you nail polish it? :D I hope you realize now first hand how the Black Beauties were built and why painting a recent SI won't get anywhere close to how a real one looks and feels. All the Soldiers, Pioneers, Farmers, etc. of the era were built the exact same way. Seriously, if you will paint this one in black and remove the bail you will get a BB clone that's as close as possible to the original.

:)

A couple of nice ebay finds this week:

'90s Explorer, like new, unused: (oops!  I left out the tweezers.  :P)

'85 Hoffritz Champion.  This is a great one, especially for what I paid.  All tools unused, blades never sharpened:
