but ingact it was a n unused 91 Soldat. Wow, very very different than the 2008+ Soldats I have. thicker tools- the opener is semipolished with the wire deshearher and the awl thes cool as hell.

Will you nail polish it? :D I hope you realize now first hand how the Black Beauties were built and why painting a recent SI won't get anywhere close to how a real one looks and feels. All the Soldiers, Pioneers, Farmers, etc. of the era were built the exact same way. Seriously, if you will paint this one in black and remove the bail you will get a BB clone that's as close as possible to the original.

:)

Nah, no polish. But man, it is so much better than its modern day eqivalent!

Agreed, looks very 8)

Are there any more of the series and when were they made? The inside facing nail file suggests not so recent.

Picked up this older Swiss champ, looks like it was carried a little, and never used. New toothpick, tweezers, pin and this guy will be perfect.

I suppose there are more knives in this serie, but I have not yet seen others. These were made before 2003, because the logos and names on the knives changed after 2003.

Oh just a 91mm alox prototype! :D

Hard anodized black scales.  1/8 inch pivots, hidden 4th pin.

Alox super tinker!

This was a fit up test and it all works perfect.  It will get rebuilt now with polished brass liners.

Im very happy with how this worked out though.  Expect to see alox plus scales for 91's in 2014. :D
