This was a fit up test and it all works perfect.  It will get rebuilt now with polished brass liners.

Im very happy with how this worked out though.  Expect to see alox plus scales for 91's in 2014. :D

And do we refer to you now as Syph, Master, or lord?  Dont know if you have a list going but PLEASE put me on it!  Incredible work.

Nice work!  Now you got me even more interested than I was before as I like Super Tinker's!  I am also thinking Alox Explorer!  :tu:

Now you just need to cut in the tweezer, toothpick, pin and pen, then I can get an Alox Explorer Plus! :D

Lack of scale tools is the Achilles heel of alox scales.  I'm very much looking forward to seeing this.

Got a couiple of Solo Reds, another Alox Cadet and a Pocket Pal. This last one is going to be my formal attire SAK. Completely unnoticeable! Both the Pocket Pal and Solo come in a small pouch, no box.

The Solo is huge! Look at the group photo.

A few weeks ago, I bought myself a Solo 108 mm. too.

A lot of knife for a fair price.    :tu:

+1 :tu:  That has been my issue with Alox and why I have begun favoring my cellidor models.  No scale tools or back tools can take a few useful implements away.  I really like the idea of Alox plus scales, and having an Alox version of a 91mm model :tu:

The only problem I see with T&T scales is the thickness.
If you want to use unmodified scale tools, the scales need the same thickness as the cellidor ones making the knife a thick brick. ::)

I hope you'll offer slim scales without tools as well.

Good point Crackout :tu:  I wouldn't want a brick SAK, although after a certain size, the thicker scales may not make much of a difference   I would like an Explorer with Alox scales.  I don't need the scale tools though, I just like having them.  If the overall size/weight/looks would be nicer without the T&T (which I think would probably be the case), then I could make do without them I think.

Yes its so nice and slim this way.  That alox super tinker is the same thickness as a standard spartan.  Thats how thick plastic is.  Well also the addition of 2 liner that I didnt have to use.

Plus you need the outer liners if you want these tools.
Nah, my money's on the classic style scales. :D

It woudl be better if I just made a holder to hold the T&T that fits where the hook is on the scissors layer.  Noone would cry about replacing the hook with T&T if it kept the SAK thin.

I would actually prefer the hook w/nailfile myself I think, but that's me ;)  If there would be another layer in which to place the holder, that would be cool for me.  Oh man, the possibilities...you do excellent work Syph, but you're an evil man for tempting me this way >:D

I'd rather just carry a 58mm on my keys for the T&T (and pen if need be) and keep the 91mm ALOX scales clean.

Keep up the great work Syph007!

I've made custom alox scales for 91mm knives before (although never this pretty). Mine were plus scales. To keep the knife thin I put all the tools in the back scale like the newer Voyagers and Travellers. That way the front scale can stay thin and not need a liner. The rear scale is thicker and I used a thin nickel-silver liner like the 84mm alox use. I worked out pretty well, actually - not too much thicker than plain alox handles, but with the pen, toothpick and tweezers.

That makes tons of sense really.  Then I can just make 2 version of back scales, and 1 version of front.  Now would anyone just want T&T and not the pen, or do I assume everyone wants plus.  Peronsall I would just want tweezers and pen.

Id love to see pics of your scales if you got any?

I'd go for just T&T. :D I carry a pen in my pocket anyways (Zebra Telescopic, Fisher Bullet, ...) and never ever use the plus pen. The pen requires thicker scales by about a liner, right?

Id love to see pics of your scales if you got any?

I'd prefer the tweezer and pen vs T&T the toothpick is not used tho it would be nice to have it all right?

My latest SAK is a gift for my friend.  It's so pretty I want to keep it all to myself ( my precious ) BUT alas I will give it as promised.
