Hello all,

Have not been here for a while, but have been busy..

-Deluxe Angler. Purchased this for around $25USD, will be a gift for my fishing-mad father in law. SAKwiki says these are rare? It's in great condition, I don't think it has seen much, if any, use.

-Ranger. In terrible condition when I got it- lots of wear, scratches and grime and the main knife blade tip must have broken off at some point (had been rounded off). After a lot of time and effort this cleaned up really well, even managed to regrind a tip to the blade. Must be an early one- no chisel or hook on the back layer

-Huntsman. Was told this was 'near new' but it basically is new. Came in the original box, and even that was in great condition.

Oh, and I have a Champion Plus on the way :-)

Have to say, I'm enjoying hunting for SAKs even more than Leatherman tools (even though I carry / use Leatherman tools much more often). I especially like looking for cheap SAKs that need a lot of TLC- great value for money and I enjoy the restoration process.

Wenger Motorist. no wear on any of the tools/blades. next to none on the (evo) scales.

I'm liking this selection of tools.
It's a pity 6 layers is just a bit much for comfortable pocket carry or I would have a new non-work EDC.

maybe it could lose the magnifier...

Ride it flat in the pocket and it will be like a y2k mobile!

I suggest you give it a chance, far wengers are much more locketable than fat vics IMO.

And a few more. Not everything is in the wiki, it's an ongoing project and new/old models get added frequently. Quite a few of them don't have official names, just numbers. I think jazzbass posted not too long ago on the history of 84 vrs 91 models.

Here's a good thread to read/drool over also. --> 84mm Rarities

Had to go and see the 84mm Rarities thread and there it is this pic of a catalog page from a time when alox had either bail or nothing

Same knife as in the middle of this old catalog page.

Cool. Please feel free to post if you have it. What made me comment was just that, alox before and completely free of the key ring (which I personally don't like).

That 93mm awls were of the older style that does not hurt either :)

I think we have one, maybe two PDFs in the whole wiki.

As far as I can tell that one came from Wayne's blog post and was later reused in the Victorinox Alox Pioneer Knowledge Book thread. Katran73 said on it was from 1958. But the info on the bottom of tha page says it's page 17 out of 22 and from the catalog up till the 1970.

Any additional info would be appreciated. :salute:

I got a Rucksack in today!

When the weather clears, I'll take it out back, and put it into a head-to-head with the Farmer and Ranger 58 for a saw test.

So far, I like this knife a LOT.

I bought a compact from ebay and this came instead.  Think I am going to file a not as described case.

My first anodized liners and my first no shield scales.  Limited spartan liners were used and stonewash of course.

Got a Craftsmen with a no cross shield and a Midnight Minichamp.  The MiniChamp is really neat it has the red led and while its quite a packed tool it wont make my keys.

Nice one Splico :tu:  I almost bought one of those (perhaps this one?) recently, but wasn't able to spare the cash at the time.  I also wasn't sure as I didn't want the Marlboro scales and wouldn't carry it until I was able to get new scales for it.  Still, it's a great SAK :tu:  I was planning on pairing it with my Wingman.  I may have to go with a Champion Plus for that instead

I have recently harvested a bumper crop.    >:D

Black Alox MiniChamp.  I really like this one.  It's the same thickness as a Rambler and doesn't weigh noticabely more (MiniChamp is 40g, Rambler is 30g).

Vic 84mm Tinker, shown here with its 85mm cousin the Wenger Classic 07.

EvoCheese.   :D  Cheesy grin.  I'm sure I saw another SAK with swiss cheese scales on MTo.  I think it was a Vic but I'm not sure.

Last but not least a slim USB.
