Very true, unless it's up against the Wave or any other exterior mounted Leatherman blades. With these  one handed operation is possible whereas it's not with the  Spirit. IMO

Certainly.  The Wave blades, file and saw have much better access than the Spirit.  The rest of the tools in the Wave have worse access than the Spirit.

I guess my question would be...  If you consider the Spirit's access poor with outside opening tools and no clumping, how do you rate tools such as SOG's Powerlock or Leatherman Rebar?

Any "heavy duty" multi tool with interior blades will come in poorly.. ST300,  Rebar, Powerlock etc etc... They weren't by design created for ease of access.

I suppose my point was, since I consider all of them to have considerably worse access than the Spirit, I have a hard time lumping the Spirit along with them all under the "poor" description.  There are a few tools that have better access than the Spirit, I agree.  But, there are many more that are worse.

YMMV

That Urban Rancher is

My latest are two Swisschamps.  A NIB black one (thanks burnside!) and a lightly-used one I found on ebay for a good deal.  They are both from my favorite '90s SAK era w/full tang main blade, grey magnifier, w/hook.  The used one has some German cigarette advertising on the scales (f6 Grosspackung).

I think I'm done with 'Champs for a while...  ::)

What is the difference between this full tang blade you mention, and a regular one?  I've never heard anyone reference a full tang blade on a SAK before

I think NutSAK is talking about the thicker tangs on the older blades with the Vic/Switzerland/Stainless/Rostfrei stamp compared to the new Vic/Swiss Made/Stainless ones.

If you have an older and a newer knife with those stamps turn them with the blades facing away from you and take a look at the thickness. It's quite noticeable.

Yes, that's what I meant.  I should have said "full width tang" as to not confuse my meaning with a full tang fixed-blade knife.  Current 91mm Vics have a thinner tang on the main blade that is not the full width of the layer, and there is a dimple in the liner that acts as a spacer to take up the void.

Oh I get it now, thanks buddy :salute:  I do indeed have an older one with that VSSR stamp from my recently acquired old mag glass Explorer.  I will have to compare it with one of my other newer style SAKs.

Glad the color combo is so popular. The red liners really make it pop. :tu:

I just came across these and thought that maybe they will interest some of the collectors here. As far as I understand these are not available in many countries. I may get one or two.
They are sold on a Greek site, and are about 1-2 euros more when bought from the same site in Cyprus.

and maybe these are also limited..:

Nice!
I have a couple of those Greek flag Classics in different colors. I think one of them has an inlaid shield which is unusual.

Yes:

And I am bidding on a Zeus SAK :tu:

The flag ones look touristy but the other two seem OK.

My latest are these 74mm's (pic by seller):

Very happy with the cheesy Executive which I had been looking for for quite a while. The black one (an Ambassador, alumin(i)um-tipped tweezers) has no shield which is nice. The red Executive needs new scales.

:2tu:  The only way to go.  I don't mind the newer magnifiers, but the shorter phillips was a downgrade, IMO.
