If you remember Jewel Stait from firefly/serenity she was cute as a button, then she dropped about a stone, and when you see her in stargate attlantis she doesn't seem so special anymore

No good. Within 24 hours of becoming stranded, she would have put up a structure, built a new boat, and repaired the shortwave radio.
