vintage cellidor photos for a change?
on: August 10, 2010, 09:10:10 PM
it seems SAK collectors are all alox fetishists nowadays, (nothing wrong with that of course  ). Have the feeling though, that I really haven't seen enough photos of vintage cellidor SAK collections here. It would be cool to see more. I will get the ball rolling (though my own cellidor collection has taken a backseat to alox):

...no I will not fan them all.

A nice bail certainly adds some class to the subject  :tu:

Seeing that I have already taken photos of this, I may as well just do the lazy thing and post the link.

The link shows an old counter display that dates to the 70s, and my attempts and the good help of the forum members, in identifying them. Please forgive the horrid green background. These photos were taken during my green phase.  ::)  :D

they're all great, even a small bail on the classic, that looks cool. I always thought that cellidor doesn't age that well, looking at my own newer SAKs, but it still looks great on those old ones.

I'll have to track down some of this stuff for myself some day.

That is not a Classic, its an Executive. Still very rare with a bail though. I took some close ups of the bail end as compared to another Executive without a bail.

How about some Nylon SAK photos as well?  Just scored some Safari style SAK's from a member as well as this Bantam in eco blue.

Many nice Cellidor SAKS!

The Blue Nylon is cool too; you don't see that too often.

A Victoria stamped Sentry

and a Wenger stamped Wengerinox

Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time

You've seen this Camper before (track down the good pictures) and it's not 'vintage', but it's not eactly easy to come by.

Nice!   :tu:

Holding the older Cellidor models is also very nice.  I like the extra weight and they have this different feeling of high quality compared to the contemporary models.  Maybe the newer ones are too smooth;  ha ha ...

I didn't know the older ones felt heavier, makes them more enticing. Was going for one on ebay, but the need to use the money for trivial things like food and rent won out over that (sorry MT.O).

The ones that feel heavier have nickel-silver liners instead of the regular alox liners common today. The nickel-silver is much more durable but they do add some weight making it harder to EDC.
