Ye Olde Leatherman Core Club
on: August 12, 2010, 12:10:01 PM
Yes another Leatherman Club ::) :D

I (finally) picked up a leatherman Core last night at Wal-Mart  for dirt cheap as it was on clearance for 29.99. First impressions are good as the thing is built like a brick sh*t house. Too bad the sheath is a major disappointment and will soon be replaced with prob this http://www.eleatherman.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13_18&products_id=75.

pics coming soon..i promise

I heard the rumour the Surge was getting discontinued..is the Core too? :-[

better stock up as this is a nice tool..about swisstool size..a wee bit lighter i think.

Leatherman's retired page does not yet have the Surge, but the Core has been retired for a while now.

Did it come with the nylon or leather sheath? Mine came with the nylon sheath and the velcro didn't last a year. My Blast came with the standard leather sheath which I like more.

The Core was retired when the ST300 was released, so whenever that was. :)

i carried it all day today and barely noticed it was there. While i miss the outside opening blade of a wave the phillips long reach makes up for it.

I used my Core to loosen the screwdriver blade on my Blast. I turn one screw and the driver twisted making it stick to the other driver.

Yes, I counted them straight after taking the picture.

I wanted to do one with blades but ran out of time that day. Not sure how popular it would be. If there is enough interest I will do it.
