(Sort of on topic) I have noticed an occasional comment about the price of a Leatherman tool in which the date of manufacture seems to have some influence on its value. Seems to me there were recent posts regretting the sale of a "1996" PST or Super Tool at too low a price. Is there some "vintage" aspect to the market value of these things?
There are many variations of the PST and some of them are less common than others. Some of the variations are subtle, e.g. blade shape, but some are more obvious, e.g. black oxide coated. The black oxide PST with the cap crimper and the PSTs manufactured in the 1980's tend to go for a bit more money. I don't know the significance of the 1996 manufacture date.
The PST in the auction looks like one of the more common variations. Of course, its worth is determined by how much someone is willing to pay for it.
