Will a saw fit in a Paratool?
on: August 14, 2010, 08:21:14 PM
As I always have a knife with me, I was thinking to replace my knife blade in the Paratool with a saw.  According to the SOG website, it won't fit, but I wonder if anyone's been able to get it to work?

I have a paratool and it appears that all you would need to do is file down the tip of the saw a couple 8ths inch.  BTW, The Paratool is freakin awesome!

SOG says that a saw won't fit in a Paratool ??? My Paratool has a saw in it.
There is no problem that cannot be solved by the use of high explosives.

I believe it depends on where you place it, but most of the tools will fit in the smaller frame.

By the way, the PT-510 is amazing. :D

looks good to me-I think I'll order a saw.
I'll have the saw, file, serrated blade for rough stuff, and the line cutter for the four long tools.  That and a decent folding knife and I should be in good shape.

Well-just ordered the saw!
I really like the Paratool.  Right now I have a Swisstool on my belt, but for everyday around the house I like my lighter weight SOG.  I made a little bucksin cover for it and it rides in my pocket a lot.

I got the saw yesterday and installed it in place of the plain blade.  I had to take just a little metal off the end to make it fit.
I have to say this is my favorite tool so far for EDC.  It's much lighter than my Swisstool, tougher and more capable than my Gerber MP400, and bigger than my Squirt.  I think with the Paratool and a Griptilian in my pockets, along with a Vic Classic SD on the keychain I should have things covered.

Yeah the paratool for some reason requires the trimming of the saw - I wish they sold replacement tools for it as well.

I still have room for one more short tool, but haven't needed that Robertson driver ever, and that's the only thing I don't have that'll fit.

Looks like you got a good set of tools there 6tx. How do you like the line cutter? I got one and have swapped it around in several tools but never seem to use it. SOGs awls are awesome!
What? Enablers! Are you serrrrious? Where? I dont see any.

All I've used it for so far is to cut monofilament.  it is handy when I'm changing the rigs on 3 or 4 rods.
