IMHO, the only good thing about the gerber was the fact that it had one handed pliers...everything else was kinda crappy.

I don't find the tools on any of my gerbers crappy, yes they may not be as good as some other makes, but they are quite servicable, and for the most part the tools are a lot cheaper than the other brands, which isn't a bad thing! The pliers are so handy you'll miss them on any other tool you use, and they have even got tools with one handed blades (is it the freehand?) so you get the best of both worlds there. The screwdrivers may be stubby but they work very well as long as the screw isn't too far recessed. In my opinion Gerbers are fantastic tools at a great price and are very creative with what they do, what innovations have leatherman come up with? apart from a replaceable bit driver? most of their tools follow a pretty basic formula with just a different set of tools or materials. Gerber have replaceable wire cutters, a saw coupler and one handed pliers. ermmm yeah....buy a gerber!
Oh i wish! I only have 3 gerbers, although that may be 4 by the end of today......
Well i'm after a mp400, and i have the precurser to the mp600, mp600 and the Legend 800. There's one on ebay that i have my eye on so lets hope the price doesn't get too high!
